As a new year commences I am sure we all miss the steadying hand of George W Bush who in the wake of terrorism or natural disaster gave us a feeling of calm amid the storm, of someone in control yet a man of compassion. This was shown during late 2004 early 2005 when an earthquake and violent tsunamis struck the nations that surround the Indian Ocean.
I have in fact chosen his radio message from January 2005 as the quote of the month for the first monthly dose of 2010.
A man of conviction and compassion, not all did and do agree with what he did but most will agree what he did he did from the belief that it was the right decision and done for the love of his country and its people and not for personal gain or popularity.
I feel the stark contrast with the current occupant of the White House more so each day when I turn the TV on to see what publicity stunt the current President is involved in. Even his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan he felt necessary to qualify with a promise of reducing numbers within so many months, again reminding us of the difference in character between the current and the previous President.
I hope the following photos from January 2005 give you some happy memories of a time when things however bad seemed more manageable and achievable because the President was in control and defending America and all she stands for instead of apologising.
Happy New Year to all and God Bless America and George W Bush and what he meant to us all during 8 very special years.
They were talking about BHO not going to church. Someone (I think it was Kirsten Powers) kept saying how "George W. Bush, supposedly born-again, didn't go to church" and therefore it was very hypocritical to get on BHO's case about not going. I was hollering at my radio and at Sean that yes, he did go to church and I have seen zillions of pictures that show that he did! Sean tried to stick up for GWB, (he talked about other things that GWB did that were evidence of his faith) but it was obvious that he was not a Dose frequenter or else he would have known that GWB did indeed go to church. He could have so much more forcefully argued with the woman who kept trying to say that GWB didn't go to church.
I think I am going to look to see if there is a video clip of that segment so I can find out who the woman was and write to her--and Sean. We learn a lot from the Dose....we don't just look at cool pictures. :)
I did not see the replay on Fox and Friends this morning, but I saw it last night on Hannity. I did not pay much attention to it as I had something else to do, and yes Kirsten Powers was on
What I forgot to mention is the fact that we had first-hand accounts from phancypants of President Bush attending church! I loved it when she told us her accounts of seeing him at St. John’s. As she said to me, perhaps she was hallucinating all those time she not only saw him there but talked to him! :)
I was actually just sitting down to write Hannity and e-mail correcting him.
Maybe if a whole bunch of us do that, he'll make a correction tonight, or at least he'll know better next time.
e-mail address is Hannity@Foxnews.com
I just wrote a polite e-mail, and hopefully he will correct the lies that Powers told last night.
SHAME on him for not knowing!
Phancypants told me that Kirsten Powers has a FB page so I have requested to have her add me as a friend. We will see if that works---but I know we can contact her at Fox as well.
Just so you know, Sean’s mailbox is full. :)
Sean, you should KNOW that President Bush went to church every Sunday, and that Kirsten Powers was lying on your show.
Will you please correct this for your viewers?
THANK you!
Grr. I haven’t had time to write yet. I will write it up and see if I can figure out how to get it to Sean. I’d love to call the show and talked to him—but I don’t have an hour to spend on hold.
:)
