A Month in the life of George W. Bush ( News and photos) January 2010
www,georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | 4th January 2010 | Snugs

As a new year commences I am sure we all miss the steadying hand of George W Bush who in the wake of terrorism or natural disaster gave us a feeling of calm amid the storm, of someone in control yet a man of compassion. This was shown during late 2004 early 2005 when an earthquake and violent tsunamis struck the nations that surround the Indian Ocean.

I have in fact chosen his radio message from January 2005 as the quote of the month for the first monthly dose of 2010.

A man of conviction and compassion, not all did and do agree with what he did but most will agree what he did he did from the belief that it was the right decision and done for the love of his country and its people and not for personal gain or popularity.

I feel the stark contrast with the current occupant of the White House more so each day when I turn the TV on to see what publicity stunt the current President is involved in. Even his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan he felt necessary to qualify with a promise of reducing numbers within so many months, again reminding us of the difference in character between the current and the previous President.

I hope the following photos from January 2005 give you some happy memories of a time when things however bad seemed more manageable and achievable because the President was in control and defending America and all she stands for instead of apologising.

Happy New Year to all and God Bless America and George W Bush and what he meant to us all during 8 very special years.

So .. TWO Sunday am talkshows

“President Bush and President Clinton have joined together in an urgent call for immediate assistance for the Haitian people. After their Saturday meeting with President Obama they’ll sit down with ABC’s Jake Tapper to discuss what the needs are in the short term and the long term.

I know ... I guess we have to experience
the ugly and despicable, so we appreciate
and work for the good and valiant.

I hear you, NordP., and I agree, but we always have to remember that OUR President is always a PATRIOT first. He answers the call of his country, in spite of who’s doing the calling.

I’ve already set TIVO for MTP and now I guess I’ll set it for the abc program too. I hope BC doesn’t do all the talking; blowhard that he’s always been.

This makes me puke. W surrounded by two of the worst crap to ever occupy the White House. Think of the last FIVE Democrat presidents... Kennedy, so dumb he managed to invade Cuba, sort of, Trigger the Cuban missile crisis, start the Viet Nam war bonk and snuff Marilyn Monroe and manage to get himself killed ALL IN THREE YEARS; Then LBJ. What a nut... escalates Viet Nam, created the failed War on Poverty and bails in 4 years. Then... Jimmy Carter... need I say more???? Then... Bubba Clinton. Mega fool, a communist stooge and kinky as hell. Rode Reagan's economic coattails... Then... This piece of poop.... What a Rouge's Gallery of incompetent communist puppets. Fools and losers all.... Democrats are idiots who elect communist dupes...

The DVR / TiVo will get a workout between today's Rose Garden press conference and the Sunday shows.

Per CBS' Mark Knoller:
The two former presidents are also taping appearances today for all five Sunday talk shows tomorrow.

Thanks, all, for the great updates and comments about our beloved GWB. I ran down to iron a shirt this morning, turned on FNC and found that GWB was just then going to make his remarks. Yea for me! So good to see him! Too bad he was surrounded by 42 and 44.

I am proud of GWB. I can't imagine the difficulty of working with the other presidents. Ugh. But, he knows it is the right thing to do. We know he won't compromise his principles. He can be a good example to them---and a testimony to them. I just hope C and O listen to him.

I didn't find out about the Press Conference until it was over.

I did see a photo of the rose between two thorns, though. Maybe I'll hunt it up and post it, or maybe crop it first so the thorns don't contaminate this thread....

(I'm not nearly as nice as our President is. ;)
