Think this is a coincidence that the targets are 3 Republicans? Liberals are getting nervous about the 2010 elections.

It doesn’t matter, republican, democrat, we’re getting rid of all the anti-freedom, anti-constitutional representatives. They are all fair game.

Let the FBI or NSA have custody of the sterilizing devices and the surrounding transport of mail in/out.

Yes. I can play chords, (never bothered to learn any lead stuff because I always considered that “someone else’s job”) on the guitar (1985 Les Paul Custom (Fire Red ) and my REAL favorite(s) (I have 2, a 1975 &76) Maple Glo 4001 Rickenbacker bass.

At one time (for about 22 years), I had an F-412 Guild. I loved it. I sold it and have regretted it ever since, but it went to a great home and a player much more talented on the instrument than I considered myself to be.

(I noticed in your tag lime that you play bass also!)

I was looking at F-412’s on eBay just the other day. One sold in near mint condition for $1800. With those bright maple sides and big body I imagine they must sound incredible — zingy and deep at the same time.

I have heard the term “thunderous” ( and yes...zingy (bright) and deep at the same time) used to describe the sound. IMHO, that’s pretty much how I’d describe it.

Guild made a F-512 also. The only difference was (supposed to be) the F-412 had Maple sides and back, and the F-512 has rosewood.

The F-512 was a little more expensive than the F-412. The difference in the maple vs rosewood arguement was as the instrument aged, some liked the sound of the maple and others prefered the sound of the rosewood.

IMHO, the best sounding and made 12 sting I’ve ever played.

Yes. I play bass and guitar, organ, piano and keyboard, drums, and do recording and audio production. I’m into doing a near finished mix right out of the board, but do some mastering in CuBase on a PC. Lately I have been exploring Pro-Tools and Garage Band on a Mac, but I do everything in Real Time. No looping or pasting with me, no siree!

I have only been playing Bass for a short time, but it has become my favorite instrument.

Wow!!! Any ideas on a reasonably priced brand of multi-track recorder you could recommend? Freepmail is ok so we don’t totally highjack BP2’s thread ( although the bumps always help sustain any thread).

Yeah, I’m wanting one really badly. I’ve got a nice handmade, all solid wood Yairi 12-string but it’s just too light on the low end. For some reason the F512 seem to be much more rare than the F412. I actually prefer the F512 I think, just because the 412’s curly maple is so ostentatious. The F12 is a little more subdued cosmetically.

If you ever get either one. you won’t be sorry and would have very little problem reselling it if you did.

I just bought a Fender Jazz bass on eBay about three weeks ago after twenty years of playing guitar and you’re right — bass is so much fun! What’s funny is when you switch back to guitar, the guitar feels tiny like a mandolin or something. This bass is the Mexican made version but I’m pretty picky about quality and I can’t tell that any corners have been cut quality-wise.

I recently bought an old 17” pre-Intel Powerbook for running Garage Band, which is just great — very easy to use. It’s amazing how good a home studio you can build these days for not much money.

Yeah, I think you’re probably right and good point about the resale value. Thanks for helping me to rationalize! lol

I started out on a Mexican Fender Jazz Bass, and then switched to a G&L and a Schechter 24 Fret.

And you are right. It really stretches out yours fingers. LOL.
