President Obama Names Transgender Appointee to Commerce Department. President Obama recently named Amanda Simpson [Pic in URL] to be a Senior Technical Advisor to the Commerce Department.
In a statement, Simpson, a member of the National Center for Transgender Equality's board of directors, said that "as one of the first transgender presidential appointees to the federal government, I hope that I will soon be one of hundreds, and that this appointment opens future opportunities for many others."
While Simpson is clearly one of the first transgender presidential appointees, Democratic officials say they're unsure if she is the very first one.
The White House had no comment on her appointment.

All true except that he whom is born a he remains a he.
I know it makes the whiny dems feel all good inside when they

I don’t understand why it needs to be anyone’s business if she was a he that ‘transgendered’. Just appoint the person and leave it alone!
Someone’s sexual orientation or even their sex isn’t my business as long as they can do their job and they stay on the right side of the law. It’s like Dumb0 wants the Gay/Lesbian Alliance KNOW how wonderfully he is treating them (mostly because he’s not kept the promises he made to them to get elected).
