My thoughts..........
LOL
I can only say that our experiences on ships have been mixed. I am Army, and old school, so I don't see a benefit to this nonsense and never have.
As far as subs are concerned, I think they already have serious issues with personnel in the American Navy sub fleet with all the accidents at sea of late. I hope they don't follow suit. This is not necessary and adds a problem that has here to fore been avoided.

They will be given special quarters which will lead to a collapse of crew cohesion.
You got 4 heads for 100 guys and you take one away for 10 women, or you have 2 showers for 100 guys and you take away one for 10 women.
Its a bad idea.

I'm opposed - I'm opposed to sea duty for women altogether - in subs I think all the problems that arise in intra-personal dynamics from living in close quarters and long separation from loved ones will be exacerbated by the presence of female crew members.

With the CNO and Chairman of the Joint Staff both from the surface community and major diversity supporters, the submarine force was an easy target.
The only submarines being considered as the prototype platforms for this initiative are the SSBNs and SSGNs, not the SSNs.
The unit punishment logs are getting ready to increase in thickness on these platforms...
