Franklin D. Roosevelt Kept Deadly Disease Hidden for Years
Fox News ^ | 1-3-10

Some 65 years ago, as World War II raged in Europe and the Pacific, the American people faced an unprecedented constitutional crisis of which they were completely unaware — and which has remained a secret ever since.

It has long been known that President Franklin D. Roosevelt, during the last year of his life, was gravely ill with serious cardiac problems: He'd been diagnosed with acute heart failure in March 1944 and suffered from astronomically high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis.

But what the public did not know was that four years earlier, while still in the second of his four terms as president, FDR had been diagnosed with a deadly skin cancer, melanoma, in a lesion over his left eyebrow.

This disease would metastasize to Roosevelt's abdomen and his brain, causing a tumor that eventually killed him on April 12, 1945.

But of course that does not explain why Truman was not in the inner-circle of the FDR administration, but neither was Wallace.

No veeps were, back in the day. By all accounts, the role of the modern VP was initiated by (of all people), Carter with Mondale.

John Kennedy had some kind of illness that was kept from the public.

Graves disease. GHW Bush had it as well.

“I think Obama has something wrong with him. He looks like he has had surgery on his skull/brain. Someone said it looked like he may have a shunt.”

I’ve seen the picture of obama’s head that seems to show a scar and was surprised to see that it is EXACTLY in the same shape and location as my scar from brain surgery. I had brain surgery to remove a tumor and that’s just what my scar looks like. However, you aren’t necessarily correct in assuming that means there is something wrong with him. I had surgery 20 years ago, and I guarantee it was more invasive than most brain surgeries, but I’m perfectly fine. I happened to be one of those people that tests showed uses both sides of their brain for everything, so was able to have brain surgery on one side with no loss of function or sign of the surgery whatsoever.

I hate Obama with a passion, but don’t assume a brain surgery means anything. Our doctors can do amazing things for major illnesses, and restore people to perfect health.

The real leader, and the man most responsible for the West winning WWII, was Winston Churchill.

Hands down.

Stalin was simply a mass murderer who was just as evil as Hitler.

FDR only moved levers around in Washington. It was American resolve, industry, and the flower of its youth that prevailed, despite him.

He didn't make all bad decisions, but by 1942 he simply followed Churchill's lead.

"Never, never, never give up!"

That was Churchill, not Roosevelt. FDR's dream was to start a new government program every 3 weeks and be thought of as American's daddy.

Churchill was the bulldog with the iron will.

one poster thought it looked like he had a shunt. I found a picture where it looks like a tube behind his ear.

If the scar looks like yours..then I think we can assume some sort of surgery..and not a forceps scar as someone thought.

there are other things that lead me to think something is wrong with him.

There is someone.=who wrote about his head tilt and things that led him to believe something was wrong with him.

Brain tumor is listed as a possibility

Did you read the article?

Sure. Dermatologist or not, it's still speculation.

WOW!

Good catch.

More and more, we know less and less about this man.

Thanks for the link. Interesting. I also have a head tilt at times from cervical dystonia...a muscle issue where my neck muscle aches and will sometimes spasm. There’s no nown cause for dystonia, and my brain surgery has been suggested as a possible cause, but not likely. Probably just a coincidence that Obama also has a head tilt. Another common cause of head tilt is spine problems (foraminal stenosis, disk buldges, etc.) that cause nerve pain on one side. The nerve pain from pinched nerves will make the muscles spasm on one side.

The link mentioned problems with the eyes, which is certainly possible if he had brain surgery. My optical nerve was damaged a bit during surgery, and I lost a tiny bit of my peripheral vision that I don’t even notice.

I still don’t think a head tilt, or even a brain surgery means there’s something wrong with him. Brain surgery is a lot more common than you’d think. With 1.5 million people in this country who have a form of epilepsy alone, you can imagine how many surgeries are done for the many brain ailments. You’ve probably met people with these issues several times in your life and didn’t even know it.

I think Obama’s only problem is that he’s a marxist idiot who is in over his head, naive, and dumber than a post. :)

Most of the damage was done in his first two terms. After that, it was WWII, which he handled well.
