Mom of 9 cries foul Claim: I was sterilized against my will By Jessica Fargen Sunday, January 3, 2010 - Updated 37m ago + Recent Articles + Recent Blog Entries + Email + Bio General Assignment Reporter Check out Jessica Fargen's Reporter's Notebook blog. This is the second time Savicki has sued over reproductive issues. In 2001, she reached a settlement with CVS and a spermacide company after she became pregnant with her now 12-year-old daughter after claiming she bought and used an expired spermacide, according to federal court documents.

Savicki has nine children from several men, is unemployed and relies on public assistance for two of the four children who live with her. She receives supplemental security income, or SSI, for a disability, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, she said. Her mother has custody of three of her children. Two of her children are no longer minors.

‘It’s my choice’

Savicki acknowledged that some may feel little sympathy for her situation, but cautioned against public judgment because she is a poor, unmarried mother of 9.

“I would never have the right to tell anyone else ‘because you have this many kids that’s enough,’ ” she said. “That’s no one’s right to say that. It’s my choice. No one has the right to say you’ve had enough.

“I take care of my kids. I love my kids. I was not ready to make that kind of decision,” she said of the permanent sterilization.

Savicki said her life has stabilized in the last decade after a rocky start. She had her first child at 13 and dropped out of high school in the ninth grade.

Savicki said she’s been in a relationship with her fiance, Angel Flores Tirado, 36, since she was 25. She lives with him and the couple’s three children. Tirado helps support the family with his full-time job as a personal care assistant. Savicki said she’s had eight of her nine children while in committed relationships and hoped for one more child with Tirado.

“It’s not like I’m jumping from guy to guy to guy to get pregnant,” she said. “I’m trying to make a healthy home for my children.”

It is her choice, yet unfortunately welfare entitlement has made her choice easy by letting her decide to steal from Peter rather than she shouldn’t bring children into the world when she can’t afford to feed or supply for them. Most people would have fewer children or no children if they and their children had to live within their means or lack of means, rather then stealing from their neighbor to get by. A friend of mine calls them Pauls, as in steal from Peter to pay Paul. The most frightening of times will be when the world is full of only Pauls and there are Peters left to rob.

Anyway, if any of her kids grow up to be productive, good members of society, maybe a doctor, a soldier, a sailor, a teacher, whats wrong with it?

I've heard this argument often enough that I'm sick of it.

It's more likely the kids will grow up to be as dysfunctional as their mom. Meanwhile, the taxes imposed to support people like her make it less likely that middle-class couples will find themselves able to afford having another child, who WOULD be likely to be a productive member of society.

I can’t help it. I don’t think it’s evil. I think it’s stopping evil. Stopping thievery and a few other bad things.

“I would never have the right to tell anyone else ‘because you have this many kids that’s enough,’ ” she said. “That’s no one’s right to say that. It’s my choice. No one has the right to say you’ve had enough.”

when she knows she will have to depend on public aid to support her children and she continues to have more, then it does become more than her concern.

of course, I do not agree with sterilization, but I have a problem with her depending on support and then she continues to have more children.

Mmmm, I’m kind of having a hard time with this story. Hospitals make you sign a consent form before any surgery. You are brought in for pre-op labwork, EKG, and chest xray. Your rights are explained to you, and a witness signs the consent along with you. You have a consult with the anesthesiologist. Your options are reviewed again before the anesthesia. It’s such an involved process that it cannot be done on a spur-of-the-moment basis. They don’t jump on you in the darkness, tie you up, and commit laparoscopy on you.

If she’s so wild about having more kids, why did she sue CVS over her 2001 pregnancy, when she bought spermicide (which has a 20% failure rate under the best of circumstances, BTW) and got pregnant anyway? I think she’s just figured out that she can make money suing whoever has deep pockets.

What kind of work ethic can a professional (rhymes with dastard) maker instill in her kids? How about the multiple fiance’s?

Fiance’ is code word for baby’s daddy, which is not PC for the press.

What you are going to have is 9 kids with a “baby, you got to get yours” outlook on life. The chances that those kids grow up to be productive and have productive are hovering about zero.

She’s pissed and suing because each new child means mo money and food stamps rolling in. At least she likes motherhood and pregnancy unlike many “modern” women... I just don’t like paying for it

“Anyway, if any of her kids grow up to be productive, good members of society, maybe a doctor, a soldier, a sailor, a teacher, whats wrong with it?”

What a foolish person you are. So if MAYBE one of her kids is actually productive...it somehow makes it worth it to us to be sucked dry for 30 years?

Why don’t you pay? Or does your feeling stop with your wallet?

I believe we should stop killing roaches for the same reason...you never know when a roach will crawl into the detonating mechanism of a terrorists bomb, thereby causing it not to blow up. Or maybe one day a sniper is shooting at your head, and just as he tickles the trigger you just happen to step on and slip on a dead roach...the very roach you, in your shortsightedness, would have killed 5 years before...and for what, because you wanted to be clean? ha. Fools!

Guess we can never again prosecute a successful war, since we’d just be killing potential future “doctors, soldiers, sailors, or teachers...” And that is wrong, ok?

Government forced sterilization is evil. Allowing this woman to extort taxpayers is also evil. The answer must be: stop using taxpayers to fund her behavior.

Thus the *Unfortunately*

You play in the system, you play by the system rules.

Personally, I think it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to her or her children. (or her mother)

They are just waiting for the opportunity to sterilize people known to have values other than those of the Democratic party. The goal of the Democrats is total mind control over all children. Anyone who could potentially give a child a moral and religious upbringing would have to be sterilized so that all children will be raised into liberalism both at home and at school.

Thank you for saying that. Forced steriliation— like Shari’a-based judicial mutilation-—is an evil thing at any time. She’s outta line in many ways, but forced sterilization is not the solution.

Besides, has anyone considered how big of a carbon footprint her promiscuity resulted in? How many polar bears must drown because of disappearing ice floes in the Arctic caused by these baby factories? How many spotted owls and snail darters must suffer and die needlessly from their habitats being compromised? Speciesism at its worst! Doesn’t anybody care??!?
