Ping.
I think it wa ‘89 — bad freeze - almost made it way to the Keys.
I blame global warming.
I hope they get an ice storm.
Why?
I remember that cold spell because it was about -20 or so in Indianapolis on Christmas Eve that year when we went to visit some friends.
cuz they’ve had to too good for too long. It’s their turn to deal with what I deal with every winter.
And also because it will make algore shutup for a day or two.
In December of 1962, it was 17 degrees in Tampa. I slipped on ice on the sidewalk headed for school that morning.
Last time I was in Orlando was january 2004, had a blast at the nearly deserted water parks, was immensely amused to see people wearing parkas, caps and gloves at Universal Studios in temps of low 50’s.
Spent a whole month there in a vacation rental home, there were a couple of days when the temps went over 75 and I had a little bit of heat exhaustion but it was a good vacation, returned to Alaska where it was -20F.I cannot go anywhere where it gets over 80 after quite a few years in Alaska now.
More global norming.
I was on vacation that year!!!!! Could not get out of Key West to save my soul!!!
Sorry, it is an ugly, hard to read post.
Why? Lots of South Florida homes don't have central heat. The citrus industry and other economically important vegetation are at risk.
January 1985 was a record setter for the SE. Brutal
23 here in Villa Rica Ga. Now, very cold forcast for next
several days after which two or three days of possible snow
predicted.
Nooooooo...don't mess with my orange juice supply.
lol : ) The algore can kiss my freezing butt. Ten degrees here. Power was off for 5 hours.
I wish we had global warming...
Hubby is sleeping on the couch down here and I will sleep in my daughters room. Heading for the heat!!!
