Monday morning quarterbacking is pretty arrogant of you. Something tells me the pro rick ppl won't haul out the 'judge not' verse on you like they did for us.

I am glad to see all you posters be live in the Biblical admonition Judge not lest you be judged. I don't know too much about Rick, but he sure has changed the thoughts lives, and out look for a lot of people. God Bless you Pastor Rick and your church. Please read that scripture in context. It is not a warning NOT to judge but that you need to judge rightly
Luke 637: Judge not, and you shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned: forgive, and you shall be forgiven: 38 Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you mete with it shall be measured to you again.
Jhn 7:24"Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment."
Scripture tells us not to be unequally yoked, that requires a judgement, it tells us how to know the saved by telling us how to be a fruit inspector.
Rick Warren may have changed a lot of lives..But I think we need to have our lives changed by the gospel, not psychology wrapped in religious language

Thank you! My memory isn’t the best, but I don’t think that would have escaped me. So it is true, I’m actually floored by it. Thank, again.

“I am glad to see all you posters be live in the Biblical admonition Judge not lest you be judged.”
That was situation-specific and is a handy cop-out for people to justify bad behavior. Throughout Scriptures it’s clear that Christians are to live their lives judging other people, judging situations, judging organizations, etc.

I agree. TOUCH in hebrew, in that context, means lay hands on to do harm to 'harm' means physical harm - David spoke out against Saul and his actions but, even though he had the opportunity to physically 'harm' Saul he chose not to. But speak out he did.

Something tells me the pro rick ppl won't haul out the 'judge not' verse on you like they did for us. At least not the rare ones that have been in that kind of a death scenario, not anybody that can imagine such a sustained, lengthy, desperate, situation and not become such a judgemental, nasty, Monday morning quarterback, about the person that survived it and even ended the killer's spree while doing it.

Did Warren come out and publically endorse a presidential candidate for 2008? Did he endorse or oppose Prop 8? What did you think about his participation and speech at the inauguration?

No matter what happened between them in that apartment.
She called the police and alerted them to his presence in her apartment.
He had already killed and might well have killed again but for her phone call.

"...the church of God marches on, and once again God surprises all of us... If God grants our petition, why should it surprise us?
If God does not grant our petition, why should we be discouraged?
At one time, not very long ago, Christians had the view that if we ask God, it was for Him to determine whether He will grant our request and whatever His answer, it was meant for our best interest. All things work for good with those who love the Lord.
Nowaday we feel and pray like we know what is our best interest. I'm reminded of the Israelites wanting meat instead of manna. Not trying to put a damper on this but its alway better to eat the bread of angels.

Thanks for your reply, I was trying to calm down those hate mongers that are so quick to judge someone. Rick Warren and his church have done so much good work around the world that it is a shame to have it all denigrated by a bunch of nay Sayers.
