WELCOME TO 2010! Dear Saddleback Family,
You won't want to miss this weekend at Saddleback! It will be history-making and also the first service of our Decade of Destiny. I can't wait to share with you what happened this week.
It speaks volumes about YOU, the depth of commitment in this fellowship, and where God is taking us in 2010 - our 30th Anniversary year. I'm simply calling this week's message "The Miracle".
In spite of a media culture that thrives on bad news and is typically clueless about how churches actually work, and in spite of hatefulness and insults by some who immediately jumped to wrong conclusion - the church of God marches on, and once again God surprises all of us! I am humbled to have been your pastor for 30 years. See you this weekend.
Pastor Rick
How much money did Rick get from Syria? LOL.
Hey, America is a great place, and God is a great God.
He (God) knows what he is doing...if the people freely gave, then let ‘em give.
LOL!!!!
Oh how some people LOVE to rationalize a FRAUD, Rick Warren and one of Warren's “changed” converts.
LOL! It’s pathetic!!!!
No, she didn't have to worry about saving her life. When she whipped out the crack, she made a friend. There is kinship with people like that. Yes, she was so “changed” by Warren that she continued her CRACK HABIT!!! Yes, Warren is so “effective”. I suppose she was just SHARING the ILLEGAL drug because Warren suggested that otherwise would be SELFISH. Yes, having ILLEGAL DRUGS because you can't deal with reality, is a good sign that Rick Warren was effective in CHANGING her life. LOL!!!!
I can believe even YOU would try and twist this around when it's just a glowing example of Warren’s PHONY, TWISTED TEACHINGS. Change comes from the HEART. This woman's heart hadn't changed. She was still the same. Her “good deed” was giving CRACK to a FELLOW CRIMINAL. In case you didn't know CRACK is ILLEGAL. She still need a mind altering drug like CRACK, because Warren's rhetoric is EMPTY TALK. CRACK continued to get her through her miserable life - not Christ.
I visit My Church in my heart. I go every Sunday (3,000 members) but my time is alone with G-D where I worship.
You are insane, she was kidnapped in the parking lot tied up and taped as a hostage, by a man that was all over TV for being on a killing spree.
If you have ever been in the hands of a killer, then you might not be so critical as a Monday morning quarterback, of how she managed to save her own life, and end the killing spree.
I’m not sure this is good news.
I don’t know enough about Rick Warren or this story about the lady and “crack” to have much input into the comments here. I would caution, however,to be very careful of the things you say regarding ministers. God and God alone judges the heart. He also says “touch NOT mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” I can’t say one way or the other about Rick’s heart toward God, so I just caution everyone to walk very cautiously on this subject. King David was very blessed by the Lord, and called a man after God’s own heart, yet, he was responsible for the murder of Bethsheba’s husband, and committed adultery. Yet, God forgave him and never stopped loving him.
I suspect that a $1 million shortfall is a small percentage of Saddleback’s annual budget.
This pastor was right to bring it to the attention to of the members.
I don’t even have any problem with the presidential debate he hosted. I think he did a fair job as moderator.
If he really supported Obama afterwards though, bad choice.
Do you have an explanation for the contradiction between the videos of him fully endorsing prop 8 and then the video of him saying that he never endorsed prop 8?
Actually it wouldn’t take that much per member to raise the shortfall. Saddleback is huge.
Yes, the man killed a judge, a baliff, and one other (as I recall) escaping from jail. It happened in Atlanta three or four years ago.
The lady collected a reward for his capture.
What did they need so much money for?
I can’t figure out why God is always so short on cash.
1 Corinthians 2:15
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
Oh brother. Well another week/month of the dog and pony Saddleback show.
Anyone want to take bets how long till he has to do this again?
Get R Done for Rick is more like it.
Saddleback does very little for God.
psst... if you like Rick Warren and think he’s conservative, you might want to take a peek at this article:
