WELCOME TO 2010! Dear Saddleback Family,
You won't want to miss this weekend at Saddleback! It will be history-making and also the first service of our Decade of Destiny. I can't wait to share with you what happened this week.
It speaks volumes about YOU, the depth of commitment in this fellowship, and where God is taking us in 2010 - our 30th Anniversary year. I'm simply calling this week's message "The Miracle".
In spite of a media culture that thrives on bad news and is typically clueless about how churches actually work, and in spite of hatefulness and insults by some who immediately jumped to wrong conclusion - the church of God marches on, and once again God surprises all of us! I am humbled to have been your pastor for 30 years. See you this weekend.
Pastor Rick
You are like a worn out record that just doesn't know when to quit.
As I said it's real tough to be what was it, “tied up” and able to share your ILLEAL crack with another criminal. I just can't tell you how unimpressed I am with Rick Warren, this woman and you.
I DO “hate” people that are not Christians and lead people astray like Rick Warren. Absolutely. Warren is as evil as Obama, whom he hangs around with.
There you go again, a true Rick Warren follower:
“No wonder you are a Romneybot.”
Name calling when you cannot defend yourself.
Liberals use this tactic ALL THE TIME.
You're sad attempt to switch the subject to Romney doesn't work either. This thread is about RICK WARREN and his delusions of being a Christian. Miracle my foot! Obama thrives financially for the same reasons that Warren thrives financially. Not all those that are blessed with money have God's blessing. Sometimes God just lets them have what they want - knowing they won't be with Him in eternity.
Yaaawwwn.
You are so pitiful and shallow.
Sounds like Pat Robertson. When he wanted to penetrate the Chinese market, suddenly “maybe abortion make sense for them.”
Of course! It's always easier to THROW MONEY at PROBLEM rather than dealing with the problem - which is often the heart. Nah, let em FEEL GOOD! Be involved and get high off of feeling good.
Schuller is just as bad. At one point he denied Revelation. He said he didn't understand it and didn't believe it. He is also into the feel good pop psychology stuff. Rick added the twist of works to the self esteem nonsense. These two make me angry. They are misleading the ignorant, by choice. They won't open the Bible and READ IT. They're lazy and just want to FEEL GOOD. They don't want to change. They just want to FEEL BETTER about themselves. Joel Olsten is another one ....
Yes ... I see you understand the times we live in.
So many of them turn their back on what I atleast hope was once their first love ... .
Yes, compared to King David, Rick seems to have done nothing more than to want liberals to say nice things about him. GWB did that too.
This is not just your opinion: it is entirely biblical. That's why churches shouldn't have fund-raising operations beyond the local congregation. Of course, the TV ministers have no choice but to ask for help from their viewers. Charles Stanley does that but devotes less than thirty seconds a week to asking for donations.
You are wrong to keep attacking this woman, she survived and probaly helped save the lives of others while doing it.
I've seen some holier than thou Christians in my time but your attacks on that woman rank among the worst.
I was a pastor there...I left the denomination because of the antics...as did my wife
actually had a junior pastor tell me that they were there to seek the $300k (wealthy) homeowners....and that some debt was "good" debt...
bingo - well said
Would that include a powerful church leader that is a Bishop, and a leader of Bishops in an anti-Christian religion, that teaches that Christianity is a false religion, and that devotes itself to converting Christians in America into it's own non-Christion religion, and that preached abortion and gay power for years?
Osteen and wife. Ken & Barbie ;-)
I have always wondered why God would tell people to do things but not provide the needed cash to do it.... My only experience with this happened when I graduated from high school. A woman in my church came to me after church one day and said “God told me to tell you that you need to go to college”. Being the smart aleck that I was I answered “ If God wants me to go, HE had better come up with some cash cause I am broke”. She answered “ just fill out the paper work and God will do the rest” To get her off of my back I applied to the local community college and applied for grants and scholarships even though it was only 4 months until the Fall schedule started. I was somewhat surprised to get my acceptance letter to school at the same time that I got my letters telling me that I had the money to pay for college..That was 2 degrees ago and the rest is history. If a church is doing what it is supposed to do, the money will be there. GOD is not a cheap skate ! If HE wants you to do a work, HE will give you the means and money to do so.IMO..
How sad is that??
I hoped so too..
I wonder if he is accountable to the members on how money is spent??
Well, like PT Barnum said, there’s a sucker born every minute.
It sure explains why they always vote Democrat.
Any church that requires $1M to "spread The Word" is spreading something else (the same thing farmers spread in their fields).
God needs to consult with Obama. lol
WOW!! Warren just flat out LIED!!
