(CNN) -- President Obama pledged Saturday that the United States will hold accountable all of the individuals involved in the failed Christmas Day terrorist attack aboard a U.S.-bound jetliner.
"All those involved in the attempted act of terrorism on Christmas must know you, too, will be held to account," Obama said in his weekly address.
Obama also recently spoke with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to receive an update on a federal review of "detection capabilities and ... enhanced security measures" put in place since the attempted bombing.
A new Transportation Security Administration directive requires airlines to physically pat down all passengers boarding planes bound for the United States and inspect their carry-on bags.
The directive also gives airlines the discretion to take other measures to prevent people from secretly assembling or igniting bombs on aircraft. Those measures include prohibiting people from keeping pillows or blankets on their laps during the final hour of a flight.

I feel so safe now.......
so, he’s going to throw his obamaice at yemen?
I believe that’s the first time The One has ever used the word “terrorism”...Nepolitano calls it “man caused destruction”.
I guess that’s progress.
...Justice = what you get when you go to court.
...in other words the guy could get off too...all he’s got to do is demand a jury of his peers...and given all the Muslims in Detroit, that’s no problem.
BS! He is not going to do a damn thing.
so, all of the gitmo detainees have been conversing amongst themselves, at least the almost 100 from Yemen surely have...I’m guessing this means we will hold them accountable in Cuba...right?
With free public-financed defense lawyers and all rights normally given only to citizens...
If you read further into the article you will see that, “President Obama went on to warn that all people connected to the terror plot will have their health care options eliminated and will have to stand in a corner.”
When told of President Obama’s response, Osama Bin Laden laid down his weapons and began to weep.
“hold accountable all of the individuals involved”
He will spill everything once we waterboard him a few dozen times. No Wait! Can’t do that anymore. Never mind.
All the while telling you how tuff he is.......obama is the enemy within.
so there is more than one isolated extremist involved?
Or is he threatening the intelligence analysts and the Northwest desk agent at Amsterdam?
He sounds ridiculous. Like a school principal threatening the student assembly for flooding the bathroom even as a piece of toilet paper sticks out from under his shoe
I’ve also been very curious about the lack of coverage on the heroes aboard this flight. but then again, if I had been responsiblity for foiling an Al Quaeda planned attack, I think I’d want some anonymity...probably much better than depending on this government for protection.
pillows. thats important. glad they fixed that loophole. at least for the last hour.
I’m suddenly reminded of that old Naked Eyes song
You made me
promises, promises
You knew you’d never keep...

Read them their miranda rights and move on.
Mission Accomplished
I have no intention of flying anywhere, but this gives new resolve to that decision. They can't do it on International flights without doing it on national flights. If they do, they'll never be able to guarantee that one won't get by. Not to mention the personal affront of the issue itself.
Keep your damned hands off of me. You want to protect us? It's called 'Profiling'.
Yeah, he will do anything to get his golf swing down as he menaces Al Quaeda,
Bet if we looked art the “Security” budget, we’d find it was cut and cut and cut.
