A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Just what do you believe roofs are made of? (I've seen many that are no more than some 1/4 inch plywood, a layer of tarpaper and a layer of asphalt soaked paper shingles.)
How much force does it take to pierce a skull? (A knife thrust is enough to punch thru a skull bone.)
How fast is a bullet traveling if it was fired, say, twenty degrees off of vertical? (A third of the muzzle velocity of a 7.62X39 is STILL 700 feet per second, at 1000 yards. Look up a ballistics table.)

To all you amateur CSI types. Get your sniffer checked. These things happen every holiday.

A spent bullet wouldn’t make it through 1/4 inch plywood.

And...

I don’t know where you live, but 1/4 inch plywood would NEVER be used for a roof. For starters, it would be illegal.

You certainly flunked physics. If fired at 20 degrees off of vertical it could never hit a roof until it had expended all of its ballistic energy and simply fallen at terminal velocity.

I’d like to see them roofing with 1/4 inch. Hope it was flat and not very high
