The age of consent in many states in the US is 16. It was as low as 14 in many states until the post WWII era. Are we REALLY better off by raising the age of consent to 18?
All I can say is, as a former 16 year old, I would have done things a little different. I would have gotten a ride from a friend, or hired a car service.

Considering that the human brain is not even finished developing until well after 18 years, it would seem to be a reasonable minimum for making significant decisions.

Age of consent should be 16. Drinking age should be lowered back to 18. Voting age ought to be raised back up to 21.
