Texas teachers warned against being 'heterosexist'

Candidates for certification to teach in public schools in Texas are being told that they will be held accountable for any "heterosexist" leanings and must become agents working to change society, according to one candidate who was alarmed by the demands.

The applicant, who requested anonymity for fear of repercussions, told WND part of the teachings on multiculturalism required him to read several online postings about the issue inside the education industry.

One warns that "teachers and administrators must be held accountable for practices deemed to be racist, sexist, heterosexist, classist, or in any other way discriminatory." And a second warned that educators must not define education as the basic skills.

"How do we create a better world? How do we do more than simply survive? As educators, we must help people to become committed to social change," the article demanded.

The teacher candidate told WND the studies were mandated by the Region 10 service center for the public school educators' program.

The center had a recording that it was closed throughout the holidays and officials could not be reached by WND.

But spokeswoman Debbie Ratcliffe at the Texas Education Agency said the state rules require teacher preparation programs to cover 17 curriculum topics, but not multiculturalism.

Even if we could stop crap like this , right now, it will still take 10-20 years to undo the crap they have already instilled in our society.

I teach in Texas, and I went through the Region 10 service center in Richardson to get my Alternative teaching certificate. There was an oriental lady there who was an instructor that was always talking about how wonderful Noam Chomsky was and how great his ideas were. I just ignored her because I knew Chomsky was a commie and went on about my business.

“Can they do that in Texas?” DieHard asks, rhetorically.

IOW, just about anything.

I got an idea. Let's file one complaint after another alleging discrimination against conservatives, Christians, etc.

The camel’s nose in the tent was getting the acceptance of hate crimes. After that, the sky’s the limit.

Army Ranger Pat Tillman was also a big fan of Chomsky's. I would bet that his fellow rangers ignored him as well whenever he would go on a rant about the Iraq war being purely for "oil" and no other reason. Or so I was told.

Since I enjoy heterosexual sex. does that make me a “heterosexist”?

And a second warned that educators must not define education as the basic skills.

That's even more frightening. I really do believe that they want to create the nightmare world in Ayn Rand's "Anthem". A world of ignorance, slave labor, mindless people (except for the elite) and poverty. With no love, no family, no individual thought and no hope.

I don’t buy it.

This is all based on the testimony of two people, Tillman’s mother who is virulently anti-war, and a guy Russell Baer who his brother fought with who was in disciplinary trouble with the army for a variety of reasons.

It may be true, but you are only hearing it from two people who have a vested interest in seeing the military slandered. Do a search, they all point out to a SF Chronicle article (Not that there is anything wrong with taking an uber-liberal anti-war/anti-military article that says bad things about the war and the military at face value) but you should see if there are other corraborating people besides an astromically bitter mother and a disgruntled soldier who was disciplined at the very least for being two days AWOL.

Just sayin.

I learned a long time ago to not believe everything I read on the internet.

This might be one of them.

Years ago, my former sister in law(a Washington state teacher)was going on quite happily on how they had learned new techniques for teaching. She said that she was teaching kids that one plus one doesn’t necessarily equal two. The reason for this, she said, was to teach the kids how to “think”. Her students were first graders.
I vehemently disagreed, but there was no changing her mind. She had a fanatic’s gleam in her eye.

Public education is a form of welfare. You wouldn’t take govt food or housing or handouts, would you? Then don’t take govt education. It contains more crap than cafeteria food, doorknobs in the projects, or paper currency.

I’m sorry to hear that about your sister. This is true evil IMHO to believe and teach such garbage, and it is a path to slavery.
