Phone, cable and broadcast companies can get away with a lot in DC, but they best not stand between a man and his football games. As we noted yesterday, Time Warner Cable and News Corporation are engaged in a retransmission fee fight that could wind up with Fox programming being pulled from Time Warner Cable's channel lineup. This apparently displeases football fan and U.S. Senator John Kerry, who sent a letter to News Corp. warning them that Uncle Sam would step in if Fox programming is disrupted later on today

That is awesome for you guys then. Too bad you missed so many games.
F*** the NFL and all who support the liberal bastion of evil...
We found that Direct didn’t allow local networks so we stayed with Dish which is ok but I think much too expensive for programs we like to watch.
John Kerry on Fox’s side- either he owns the stock or he started partying already
And Kerry has what power to do this other than thinking he is someone?
Wait a minute! Kerry's sending a threatening letter to News Corp? Seems to me he oughta be sending the threatening letter to Time Warner, the ones who are threatening to drop Fox.
Oh, wait...that's right, News Corp (Fox) are the bad guys, Time Warner are the Dim-o-crap apologists.
Yea,yea,my wife has breast cancer, but this is football
were talking about!!
Abuse of power.
I would make sure that his television set was one that was blacked out.
I’ve had DirecTV for years and I don’t think you can beat the service they provide. I’ve heard the opposite about Dish TV but I’ve never dealt with them so I don’t know.
Note to John: Shut up! It is a private corporation. Not your business. You are just another liberal who thinks that just because you are a senator (I will never understand this...) you have power over everything and everyone. You do not, moron.
I’m sure there are two sides, etc. etc., but dangit, I need Fox... Cowboys, Mavericks and .... Jack.
I thought Liveshot was going to Teheran. Why doesn’t he just go and become a resident of the Teheran Hilton for about 1,116 days.
When I needed customer service recently, I talked to two people in India. One I could not understand at all, nor could I be sure she could understand me. When I explained this to her, she made no response or acknowledgement and when I asked her to try to speak more slowly and distinctly ... she didn’t. the second one was a guy and altho he had a pretty strong accent, he did follow my request to speak slowly and we made it.
But... did Time Warner send me a notice saying, ‘hey, we’ve outsourced our customer service to India and saved a bundle of money we would have had to pay to American geeks. We are therefore reducing your rates.’
I got no such letter.
“Rupert Murdoch hates babies....Who hates babies?”
My math is rusty but if they are currently paying 30 cents and Fox is asking for a dollar, that is not a 300% increase ... however, it is my understanding that broadcast stations are currently paying zero.
Fox News would not be affected.
Looks like Time-Warner blinked:

Last I heard on FOX radio news is that a 30 day cooling off period has been suggested. This was brought up by Time Warner ( cheeky FOX people ). Fox doesn’t have to accept it. Fox can go dark at midnight for TW customers this time.
Not comparable in importance, but a good argument for a cafeteria system for both cable and health care insurance.
Ditto that.
