The Obamas visited a movie theater near their rented vacation home in Hawaii on Thursday morning for a screening of the sci-fi spectacular. Officials say the first family had the theater to themselves to watch director James Cameron's tech-heavy film.

A few years ago we went to a multiscreen theater in downtown Hilo that had many of the latest movies CHEAP, like a buck a seat, as I remember.
But, then again, we had to enjoy it with the rest of the rabble. sarc/off

These people are doing anything to escape their own “reality.”
Wonder if Obama will let his kids watch Blind Side? About a white family who helps an African American kid and accepts them in their family. Kid becomes a great football player (gets a football scholarship and goes to the NFL) with the help of his adopted family.
They probably went to see it in Imax Format which I am sure the White House doesn't have. They got kids so I think we can give 'em a pass on this one. I don't begrudge a President a bit of Normal R&R even if they have to shut down a theater or two.
Flying to Copenhagen to get a Nobel he didn't earn... Yeah, waste of taxpayer money. Taking his wife and kids to see Avatar at the Imax once a year. OK. It sucks they have to go through all the crap to move him around but its the world we live in.
No discussion of the specs of the projection equipment at the White House but gives a rundown on presidential movie picks...

I was so bored I just wanted it to end. Didn’t even watch the last 20 minutes.

Second is during my honeymoon with mrs. jimfree. We saw Herbie Rides Again and might as well have been alone in the small theater at the Lodge of the Four Seasons in Lake of the Ozarks Missouri.
