You mean you wouldn't want the LOGO channel?
< /sarcasm >
thnaks for hte heads up- thoguht it invovled FNC as well
But if you go to keepfoxon.com it says that Dish network/Directv are not involved in this..I was watching our local news today and the anchor said just switch to directv or dish
Here in NE Wisconsin they are saying the local FOX affiliate, FoxNews and FoxSprotsNet are all fine - they aren’t going off the air. This impacts Speed, FX, and some other channels they have.
Dish was OK, but I switched to Direct several years ago and have had no problems what so ever. Anything is better than cable
Dish is offering the Classic Gold 250 package right now for 47.99..we have 4 TV’s in our house, I also want the HD DVR(never had dvr before so this would be awesome) and am also considering that HD Platinum package for an extra 10 bucks a month, is that worth it, do you have it?
[[But what we really need is cafeteria cable. Im paying for MTV and other useless channels I dont want.]]
Never goign to happen- TW realizes peopel wil lbe paying only about $15-20 p/m instead of $50-$80 for the ‘packages’ they provide- no way they’ll risk losing all that revenue offering ala cart (they’d apparently rather lose money driving people away than to offer their loyal customers ala cart liek we ALL want
We’d get Directv but their package seems too expensive..all the good stuff starts at 83.99
They (comcast) were doing the same thing to us.........every week we lost another channel, and signal quality was dropping fast....all we had to do was subscribe to the digital cable to get everything fixed they told us...we told them to go to hell, and went with AT&T Uverse instead...and I love it....got more for less cash, and have not had a problem with it...
Funny you would mention the two shows you did because we won't be watching the Idol because of the Degenerate or 24 because Jack chose Islam over Christianity.
Comcast took over Time Warner, in the greater Houston area, a couple of years ago so I guess we will be outside the frey.
I currently have TimeWarner cable packaged with the phone and internet and I’m paying about $157/month with all the stupid-ass taxes and fees. If I change to DirectTV I gotta find a new home for my phone and internet.
Suggestions?
[[But if you go to keepfoxon.com it says that Dish network/Directv are not involved in this]]
Well somehtign has changed then because before, it was said that dish and satelitte were invovled as well- we got an email from TW tellign us this- (note, they probably threw that in to prevent customers from looking into alternatives to cable- scare tactic)
Isn't that the channel with Keith, Chrissy, and those other homos?
Uhhgg. I would PAY TWC if they would sh!t-can that channel.
Jeff Bewkes sounds like a “Pewkes”.
Responsibility — I like the idea of a cafeteria selection. We have nearly 500 channels, if you count the duplicates on Digital and HD. I watch about 10 different channels on a regular basis. I would love to pay for just the ones I watch.
Lots of folks I know have Direct TV, however, I have Dish Network and love it. It’s reasonable and in the 3 years I’ve had it, it’s only gone out twice. (Came right back on a couple minutes later).
I have the 250 channel package and only pay $65 for it. (Previously had Comcast and had enough of there prices, and my cable went out at least once a week.) I pay an extra $7 for “insurance” in case the dish falls off the house or we lose a remote, I don’t have to pay for it. All the customer service folks are really nice, too. I had to order a new remote and she pleasantly informed me regardless of my insurance, the first replacement remote is always free and waived the shipping costs, too.
Same thing here. We have a digital box in the Den, but the rest of the rooms just have standard cable..now I have three channels missing..I never watched oxygen anyway but ya know how it sucks going through your TV and seeing fuzziness on your screen where a channel used to be..used to watch the weather channel, and having the family channel was kinda fun(liked watching full house reruns) called TWC and they said that if we switched to digital we would have the programs back, told them to F themselves, they blamed it on the Government..I doubt Obama gives a crap about the family channel LOL
When you get a good suggestion — please ping me. I have the same deal and the same price — Internet, phone, and TV.
157? we pay 110 bucks a month for internet and tv..and most of the channels we have are just awful..dont know what to tell u about your phone service since we have AT&T, you should check out Directv’s web site..if you know someone who has directv and they refer you, you get like 30 bucks off your bill
RE: “Fox isnt just goign after cable, they are goign after satelite too- this iwll affect satelitye as well”

Yes! Information here in L.A. is that while people can jump around to all manner of providers of TV, they will still have to face what TWC is facing right now from Fox. It’s just a matter of time. Someone had to stand firm; I’m in Time Warner’s corner on this one.
Dish is WAY, WAY, WAY better than Clunker TV (Direct)
DISH costs less, offer better channel packages, are easier to use and set up, and their program guide is much better and easier to understand. They also have movie ratings, where Clunker TV does not.
I made the switch years ago, and will never consider going back.
DISH ALL THE WAY!
