We’ve done that a couple of times for national travel. Worked fine. But, most of our travel is to South America, China and Eastern Europe (business trips)....usually on fairly short notice, with multiple destinations. Won’t work for that.
The older I get, the more I hate to travel. I’ve done way too much of it, the glamour is gone. And it’s getting worse all the time. I just want to hunker down in my house in the woods, keep the fireplace going, read and make soup.
I understand how the glamore can wear off. Friends who travel alot have said the same thing, though they travel mostly in the states.
I think all things we think are glamourous, for a time, can wear thin. I was in the fashion industry for several years and trust me it is not all those think it’s cracked up to be. Wears thin really fast. So I left it. But I did get to meet some interesting people along the way.
.. Later I found politics was much more exciting because you could make a difference...(or so I thought)..and did do just that on a local level more than national.
Had to learn quickly, even at that level, who the players were and who was who behind the scene. Once that’s learned you know who you’re up against and can make a difference.
Oh yeah, warm fire, good book and soup! Doesn’t get much better than that!
Me too. Just wish my 2 Chicago kids were with me. I DO have my firstborn grandgirl though
