The suggestion comes as US President Barack Obama condemned the "systemic failures" that saw intelligence about a Nigerian trained in Yemen planning a bomb attack squandered with the potential cost of hundreds of lives.
Mr Obama called for "lessons to be learned" over the failures to link up intelligence. The terror suspect has told his interrogators that there are many more insurgents preparing to attack the West – diplomats have revealed that at least six British students have been arrested and deported from Yemen in the last year for allegedly trying to join radical Muslims.
America is now said to be focusing its fight against al Qaeda on Yemen in a bid to enforce the point that "attacking America does not go unpunished", a security source told The Guardian.
"First we have to find out who put Abdulmutallab on the plane with the bomb," the US official, who works alongside intelligence organisations, is reported as saying.
"He's providing some leads and we're not dealing with an unknown quantity here. We've been watching and listening to what goes on in Yemen and we may have pieces of the puzzle already and just need to fit it together.(continued)

Don't Obama's different responses to parallel incidents involving these two terrorists, with the same geographical target, explosive method, and outcome serve to very clearly point out to the American voter the hypocrisy of Obama?

Prediction: Obama is going to severely deplete our arsenal of cruise missiles to no good effect after having cut back our military budget and crippled our ability to quickly replenish them, in exchange for an illusion of having done something about terrorism.
The only lesson “learned” in all of this is that our community organizer and chief is woefully unprepared for the responsibilities of the presidency. Personally I would have pulled a carrier group up within visible range of whatever turd town is biggest in Yemen and sent them a message that they had 48 hours to round up every "radical" they have and turn them over. When they failed to do that (which they would) I'd shell them until Yemen broke off from the Saudi Arabian peninsula and slid into the sea.
Probably a bunch of cruise missiles aimed at empty tents ala Clintoon.
Like Obamao will send over a few 2 million dollar cruise missiles to take out a few empty tents and hit a camel in the ass. After they warn the terrorists that an attack is coming their way!
And the press will rave over the “courage and decisive action of this President”.
