HONOLULU -- Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.
He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
The radio show host had been in the islands during the holidays. Coincidentally, his visit comes at a time when two of the nation's most powerful Democrats, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are also staying in Hawaii.

Actually you can’t tell by EKG whether or not you’ve had a heart attack. You can get abnormal waveforms from stenotic vessels without damaging the heart, I know this from experience. To test for heart muscle damage they do blood enzyme tests.

KHON2 has learned that conservative radio host, Rush Limbaugh was taken from the Kahala Hotel in an ambulance just after 2:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Sources say the 58 year old was suffering chest pains before the ambulance arrived.
EMS confirms a male was taken from the hotel in serious condition.

I remember my dad having an episode like that. Passed right out - we thought for sure he had a heart attack, but it was indeed gallbladder.

CBS is reporting the same story - only they find it ‘ironic’ that Rush would be visiting in Hawaii the same time that Obama and Pelosi are there...

I read a thread here yesterday that he got engaged over the holidays. He lost so much weight - I’ll bet it’s his gall bladder. Very Painful and serious. My cousin who had bariatric surgery 2 years ago - told me over the holidays that it is a complication after losing so much weight so fast. Lots of prayers for Rush !

Yes, he is trim and with fit appearance; but have worried about his last diet and his claims to avoid exercise (not that his show is not a workout) but hearts and bodies need oxygen and exercise and good food bring it in. Not sure he was getting best of either.
Do hope this is just a 'scare' and is not serious. . .all to say, hoping for the very best for Rush.

Rush is a blessing and inspiration to so many of us. While many Biblical references are certainly in order, I will reach out to Star Trek to evoke the thought that while many times the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few-
sometimes the needs os the one outweigh the needs of the many.
