I believe that 100% of those obnoxious GE compact fluorescent are made in China because they use a lot of mercury and we don’t want the waste here. At the same time, GE is closing down their incandescent bulb factory here in the US. More Green Jobs.
I have a friend that is a GE purchaser, and they were directed to “buy off shore AT LEAST 50%”.
They have suffered catastrophic failure in several mechanical systems due to poor metallurgy and keep buying the crap from India and China made by GEXPRO who they used to own.
Now, they are moving to the 2.5MW wind turbines and guess who is making the prototypes?
