Not what I meant although as I reread my commentary it would appear what I said was as you took it. NO.
I meant that what you posted appeared to clarify that it was in fact Janet Napolitano’s own words that the subpoenaed bloggers relayed, therefore it appears the TSA is like a dog chasing its tail.
Hopefully that clears the matter, and thank you for your postings. Excellent work.
I didn’t bother to check it at the time, but I seem to remember someone saying at the time that Napolitano had posted the travel new rules on her government web site.
I had a client who returned from Peru with some gold and emeralds on his person, all on the up-and-up, he wasn’t smuggling. TSA in Florida had him step to one side and gave him the search just short of full body cavity. There were three TSA people around him.
By the time he got organized he noticed that some of the jewelry was missing. It wasn’t confiscated: TSA simply said he was mistaken, though he showed them the receipts, and they refused to release a copy of the security videoso his congress critter got involved.
Life in these United States is becoming too much like the movie `Brazil.’ Something’s got to give.
What is so friekin’ top secret about these procedures? Anyone who traveled would see what they were doing. It’s not like they said - “Ok - everybody whip out your xenon x-ray vision megatron anti-matter screener (see attached schematic)”. Maybe they are just ashamed that our procedures are so pathetic.

If the directive wasn’t supposed to be released, it’s the fault of the government employee who leaked it. The Federal government leaks like crazy, in any case.
