The smell from Reid's health care bill is just now starting to fill the air
The Coillins Report ^ | 12/30/09 | Kevin Collins

It looks like the deeper we look into Harry Reid’s health care monstrosity the worse it looks. A new review of this pile of Marxist dung reveals that blatant racial discrimination is a central thread of this evil cloak.

The bill directs the Health and Human Services Secretary (now THE most powerful person in our government surpassing even the Chicago gangster) to give “priority” in the sending $ billions of our tax dollars only to medical schools that discriminate against Whites or face being cut off. Depending upon which section of this bill one reads, it mandates “preferential” treatment for favored people “according to race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, and religion.” Honest medical schools that follow current federal laws forbidding discrimination based on these characteristics will be unable to survive and put out of business. Linda Chevez director of the Center for Equal Opportunity labels this, “a new racial spoils system.” Who can argue against this observation?

Not just doctors

Section 756 of Reid’s monster demands that schools “training social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, behavioral pediatricians, psychiatric nurses, and counselors will be ineligible for federal grants unless they discriminate.”

It cynically states schools training students entering these fields must follow this rule and give unlawful preference to: “individuals and groups from different racial, ethnic, cultural, geographic, religious, linguistic, and class backgrounds, and different genders and sexual orientations” and these schools must demonstrate “knowledge and understanding of the concerns of the[se] individuals and groups.”

In Nazi style language the section goes on to declare that those schools failing to follow these mandates will be “liable for “liquidated damages.”

The bill also even sets up a new federal medical school it calls the United States Public Health Services Track “grant appropriate advanced degrees.” The expressed purpose of this no school...

Pretty soon, for certain people, getting a MD degree is going to be as easy as... getting a Nobel Peace Prize... and just as meaningless.

They don’t just want to destroy health care, they want to burn it to the ground and plow it under.

The content of any federal version of health care is irrelevant. Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care. People are not bound by any unconstitutional act of Congress and therefore do not have to comply. This is the point people need to drive home with their Congress critters!

To me it appears to be that the attention span of most of America to be upset with something is not much more than 72 hours, so now that the underwear bomber is fading away its now time for a return to the Obamacare issue.

That is unless Obama creates another diversionary crisis.

I admire the Iranians for rioting in the streets and setting things on fire as a means to get their freedom.

I wish Americans were like this, instead of worrying about American Idol, College Football, Tiger Woods and his ho’s, Charlie Sheen’s latest antics, Jon and Kate’s divorce, which lesbian actress is smooching another lesbian actress on yet another awards ceremony, etc.

>>They don’t just want to destroy health care, they want to burn it to the ground and plow it under.<<

And after they DO plow it under, there are some medical instruction books for laymen available as free downloads here:

Back to the Middle Ages!

I’ve gotten a couple of books herbal medicine too, and bought some seeds. I’d far rather have a real doctor from a real medical school, but if rationing doesn’t allow that, I want to be as prepared as I can.

Trivia gem: The reason poppies grow all over the South is that the Confederacy asked people to plant them for opium for the hospitals, and they’ve naturalized.

The laws are very weird though - apparently if you know how to make opium, EVEN IF YOU NEVER TRY, it’s illegal to have the plants. If you have no clue, you can have a nice perennial border of them, right out front for the world to see.

I know that book, Where There Is No Doctor. I was in China in the early 90s and many of the foreign teachers had a copy... especially those living far from the coastal cities.

You know there is trouble in River City when Herbert of the New York Times slams the bill in all it’s gory details.

There is no way that alleged direct quote is real.

Politicians never state their disguised evil intentions with such clarity.

It is very hard to read a typical bill, because most bills consist almost entirely of amendments to other existing laws, and you only see the changes made to the existing laws.

In this case, there is an entire section added, so it makes things a little easier, although some definitions are in the old law.

But I think Collins is wrong about how he reads the bill, or at least overstates it.

He is right that the law is giving the secretary almost dictatorial powers to give out money. But the section is about grants to colleges for programs, and doesn’t itself set discriminatory criteria for that (it allows the secretary to make up the criteria).

More interesting, the bill specifies the types of programs that can be given grant money. One group is “social work” (which has nothing to do with health care), and the bill then says that “at least 4 of the grant recipients shall be historically black colleges or universities or other minority-serving institutions.”

I wonder if there are only 4 historically black colleges or universities that offer degree programs in social work (actually, it’s hard to imagine that ALL historically black colleges wouldn’t offer such a degree).

So if an institution makes it harder for a white person to become a doctor they will get money.

If they do not discriminate against white people they will be punished.

God help us!

Every day is opposite day at the White House. Just think what the average, fair-minded, logical, patriotic would do then, then think of what just the opposite of that is, and that is what the WH does. Maybe that can be their new motto. Every day is opposite day.

Thank you. Perhaps an Obamite will explain why the race based granting is not a violation of “equal protection” or other Constitutional strictures. I shall wait to hear from Eric (blacks first always) Holder...LOL
