Unfortunately, the terminally stupid Republicans seem to be proving themselves to be completely unable to take advantage of this situtation. Someone running as a Conservative, Independent, or Libertarian is highly unlikely to win no matter how qualified, so the Democrats will win by default, with a little fraud thrown in just to make sure.

Regular Americans turned away from the Democrats in 1972 when they ran the lunatic, socialist George McGovern. This was the election that made my long time Democratic Mother and her 2 sisters switch over and vote Republican despite the fact they didn’t like Nixon one bit. This was where the radicalization of the Democratic Party started and each candidate since 1972 has been getting progressively worse.

Well, these "regular" Americans got the government they voted for and deserve; electons have consequences.... its a shame the rest of us have to suffer with them, especially when they were warned. Thankfully, we planned ahead (and continue to) before the elections.
