Sadly there is no impeachment process for members of Congress nor are there provisions for recall elections even though both might be applicable to state and local elected officials and members of state legislatures. However, it is possible for members of Congress to resign for any reason.
Perhaps if people in Nebraska vented their wrath on the state Democratic party and sought to remove Democrats from state offices by recall petitions and vote every Democrat good and bad out of office, making it clear that this is a direct result of Ben Nelson's sell out, pressure could be put on the party to force Nelson's resignation. It's a thought.

Come on people, you know this can’t be true. Harry Reid said that the democrat senators would receive nothing but praise and thanks for their votes for the Health Care bill. So just calm down, you know Harry can’t be wrong. Can he...naa, didn’t think so.

"Many states allow their Senators to be impeached." States don't have anything to do with it. The only "thing" that can remove a sitting Senator is the Senate. The states have no Constitutional authority to impeach or recall Senators, Representatives or Federal Judges. Sorry.

He probably was promised some high paying job if he lost reelection or chose not to run.
To: RobinMasters
Ben Nelson has until 2012. That’s almost 3 years. How many voters will remember his switched vote by then? How many will care?

Pretty much all of us. The only thing that got Nelson elected last time was the ineptitude of the state GOP. They always assume his re-election is a done deal and nominate someone so retarded even us knuckle-draggin’ rednecks cannot bring ourselves to pull the lever for them.

Maybe not. There’s plenty of us who are going to be more than happy to bring up lots of reminders on this a$$wipe in 2012.

I wonder how many State GOP leadership positions are infiltrated by the dims?

He KNEW this was coming and he STILL fell on his sword for the DEAR COMMIE LEADER!!!
I seem to remember him claiming all the outrage was orchestrated and in reality everyone wanted this passed. Senate poll numbers would go up once this was passed

that's OK. Harry Reid promised to take care of him for life or until the US quits paying Nebraska Medicaid, whichever comes first.

Nelson will just be the new Health Care Czar. Once it’s passed, it will never go away. Until the revolution.
To: RobinMasters
Please tell me he is up for re election in 2010?
To: Old Retired Army Guy
I’m sure NARAL would give him a job.
