What do you do that requires you to use such old maps?

I used that information to find the old Civil War earthworks and where they were originally. About 20 years ago the Tennessee historian was mapping the location of the earthworks around Shiloh to Corinth and we had to correct the North about 15 degrees because the magnetic North had shifted. It made finding the original earthwork and battle locations easier and because many had been destroyed by farming. Other locations that were surveyed were Parker's Crossroads, Hatchie Bridge, Middleburg, Britton's Lane, Corinth, Farmington, Chewallah, Iuka, Peyton's Mills, Rienzi and Brice's Crossroads.
