Ruh roh!
Somebody ping the rest of us Alaskans.
Bad news if ash falls on a snow covered roof, too much weight.
Is this related to the cauldra that could take out Wyoming if it blows?
No, that would be the Jellystone supervolcano, and it would take out a lot more than Wyoming, as in most life on earth. Redoubt is a piker in comparison.
Have Yogi and Boo Boo been alerted?
MSM: Palin’s fault.
Denali Park is quite a ways north and probably would not be affected unless the ash plume went very very high and the winds were just right, normally the winds head more easterly, I am about 35 direct miles sorta north of Anchorage and we normally would get an ash fall.
Thanks, the kids are in Texas now but will be headed back in May. Best of luck to you, hope this eruption doesn’t happen.
The last sizable occurrence was recorded about 6:15 AST or about 5 1/2 hours ago, I suspect if anything were to happen it may very well be tied in to an eruption of that other volcano in the Philippines. They are all part of the Ring of Fire, what would have me worried is that there is now a lot of snow on Redoubt and when it get hot ash it will take out whatever is down river, and there is a oil storage tank farm there, good news is that I think they completely drained it recently.
For anyone watching the webicorder the events that you see at about 10:50 am and pm are calibration pings done every 12 hours.
First I saw the headline, I wondered if it was going to have to stay in it’s seat an hour before landing. Too much airplane news on the head. I hope that all will be well in Alaska.
Yeah that was 3.8 (orignally 4.1) quake sse of Old Harbor.

Hopefully the geologists can fine tune the other webicorders so we can more accurately follow along.
“I suspect if anything were to happen it may very well be tied in to an eruption of that other volcano in the Philippines.”
Was thinking the same thing. The volcano in the Philippines, Mt Mayon has erupted:

Yeah I don’t think either.
This blog has a picture of the webicorder graph before the 4/09 eruption. Great for comparison.

Thanks for the link. Clearly the April chart shows an overt decrease in frequency and a large increase in amplitude.
You are correct. It decreased for almost 6 hours or so then hell broke loose...lol
In that graph you can also see increased harmonic tremors. I am not sure you caught this one from February but this you tube clip is wonderful.
