Four days late, Barack Obama will interrupt his Hawaii vacation and finally speak to the nation today about the Christmas Day terror attack on America. However, he will be hiding from the American people and a media that might (might) ask uncomfortable questions by releasing a taped statement rather than making a live address.
Reports are that he will tape his remarks at the nearby Marine base he has been using for his gym workouts, golfing and beach outings. Obama is staying at a $8.9 million estate that rents for an estimated $4000 per night.
The White House Web site still has not posted any statement by Obama or anyone from his administration about the attack. Late last night the administration updated WhiteHouse.gov for the first time since Christmas Eve with a statement by Obama on the passing of Percy Sutton and one by the National Security Council on the protests in Iran. But still no word on the attempted massacre of 289 innocents on Northwest Airlines flight 253.
The Obama media is parroting the Obama spin that his above-it-all response to the attack is smart strategy, yet it is actually giving the American people the idea that Obama doesn't care enough about the country to take five minutes in four days of fun in the sun to do his job.
Releasing a taped statement will only add to the appearance of distance between Obama and the American people.
OK, I called KFI and they are calling that full repeated paragraph a “delay.” So it was an airing mistake on KFI’s part, I am assuming.
I know his mind was probably absent anyway during the delivery of this speech, but I was stunned that he would not even recognize he’d said those same stilted words two minutes earlier. :)
Interesting you say that- just had a chat with a friend who said he finally gets it. He said the last few months he keeps saying WTH is going ON...it’s as if the president wants something awful to happen to the country, whether its’ the economy- health care or security. My friend said he thinks the prsident is looking for a way to make a great power grab. A year ago he said he would never have even entertained such a thought..
I’d have felt a lot better if you’d have came back and posted that KFI said this was all a dream. A bad dream.
LoL!
You might have a point there, maggief.
He made such a big deal out saying that GITMO was the reason for jihad and also a recruiting tool.
Damn fool.
Oh wow, RIV!
You know what? He was devoid of passion. In fact, he read the speech rather quickly. No emphasis like he usually does.
I think he either knows his administration failed and didn’t want to deal with it OR
(should I post this?)
OR, he has mixed feelings about conducting the WOT against his people -— that he thought he had brokered a silent deal with them -— speech in Cairo and bowing to Saudi King, mixed signals to Iran, siding with Pali’s etc.
I do NOT trust him. Maybe it’s apparent? :)
I’m on board with your friend.
Forceful, straightforward, confident.
Unlike the meaningless blather we heard from Prez Obooboo this afternoon.
You noticed—no tie. A signal to his Muzzie brethren. They never wear ties.
WOW- did you just hear Rove on FOX? He was really pissed. Mild-mannered Karl was extremedly concerned that 1) he’s being treated as a criminal and 2) that the president says this is a lone actor kind of guy and 3) he doesn’t seem to grasp the situation.
here they go blaming President Bush~~~~~~~~~~Men believed behind airplane plot were freed from Gitmo

Two of the four leaders allegedly behind the al Qaeda plot to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet over Detroit were released by the U.S. from the Guantanamo prison in November, 2007, ABC News is reporting, quoting American officials and citing Department of Defense documents.
Obama was so dispassionate as he spoke. It wasn’t like 289 American citizens ALMOST lost their lives,or anything!
I said that same thing upthread- he was reading it- it was “just words” to him.
As incomprehensible as it is- we need to accept we have a president who does not LOVE our country. We cannot depend on him as we could with Bush, Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Nixon, hell, even Carter- to act like an American. We must remember his background is not one of a common experience with us..
The pressure of being President must be overwhelming to Barry and may be causing him to have to use tranquilizers.
He’d show more passion ordering Dominoes pizza than he did making that speech.
Well, they SHOULD be blaming the leftist anti-war protesters and other assorted denizens of Obama's power base. It's because of pressure from them that Bush made the admittedly poor decision to begin releasing some Gitmo inmates. But this is just a red herring at this point. The pertinent question for Obama is now that we know that two former Gitmo detainees were involved in a new plot against us, will he reconsider his promise to close Gitmo and to transfer its prisoners?
Janet is as good as gone. Just heard on the radio that the state dept gave security agencies the heads up on abdullah
I just watched his speech. My reaction:
1. The man is a Muslim. He never said Muslim once because he wants to hide that most obvious fact.
2. We are on our own when flying. He and his Security team see us as expendable, unwashed scum and infidels.
3. Stay off of airplanes until they start strip searching Muslims. They are now getting on planes with plastic explosives and our Muslim president will not dare offend them. He would much rather see us and our children get killed.
4. This president is a one term disaster, and we have yet to see the worst consequences born of his hatred for the US. We have three more years to get slaughtered. Stay out of Airports, malls, trains, etc... his fellow worshipers have a free pass for three more years.
