Michele Bachmann Is Welcome At Tea Parties The Republican congresswoman from Minnesota has become a rare elected official to be embraced by the vocal small-government activists. And the GOP is taking note.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) has been criticized by both parties for hyperbole, but has developed a rapport with anti-establishment conservative groups.

Reporting from Washington - When Michele Bachmann took the podium at a rally against health legislation this month, she dutifully hit the highlights of the Republican argument against the bill: It's too expensive, it will depress wages, it punishes the middle class.
But because she is Michele Bachmann, she did not stop there.
In less than eight minutes, the Minnesota congresswoman told the cheering crowd of conservative activists that the Democratic healthcare bill isn't just bad policy -- it's unconstitutional. She invoked Tennyson's "The Charge of the Light Brigade," though it memorializes a suicide mission. She dissed the United Nations, recalled Elian Gonzalez's journey from Cuba, and offered this holiday greeting:
"That is our wish for fellow citizens here in the United States -- for freedom, not for government enslavement!"
The crowd roared.
In two terms in Congress, Bachmann has often used hyperbole and political theatrics to make headlines. And recently, she has achieved a rare feat: winning the trust of the anti-incumbent, small-government "tea party" activists who distrust most elected officials. And that puts Bachmann in a position of rising influence.

I have nothing but respect for Michelle Bachmann.
It’s funny how they don’t use the script on Bachmann anymore after the big turnout at the Capitol for her.
Minnesota ping...
I was hoping that this woman could avoid the hatreed and vile that Sarah Palin has suffered, but it looks like the left hates any woman who is not in line at an abortion clinic.
Normal leftist response... She is one of the best!
She’s ibe of the few conservative politicians who have credibility right now. My list would include Sarah, Bachmann, Demint, Joe Wilson, ummmm...hmmm I’m starting to run out here.
Real Patriot.
Real Person.
Real Fighter.
We CONSTANTLY vote in the wrong people.
Pointing out the encroachment of the Left on what few freedoms we have left is “hyperbole.”
These people would call accurately pointing out the Nazis marched into France as “panic-mongering” and “cheese-bagging.”
Hussein and his minions “poke-poke-poke” to overload our systems and irritate the irritable into mistakes. Michelle Bachmann is a lot like Sarah Palin in that both can poke at the Obummites and nudge THEM into mistakes. Go, ladies!

Really?
Healthcare Reform?
Global Warming?
Obama and the Democrats are nothing but hyperbole.....
Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Michelle Malkin top my list of most admired women.
...who me?
I’ll be donating to Michelle’s campaign in 2010, and right now, hers is the only political campaign I can think of nationwide that I will be contributing to (and I don’t live anywhere near MN).
True conservative patriots get my donations. All other pols get ignored.
“A Position of Rising Influence”
Oh my....
The "Babe" ticket....
where Al Gore, Harry Reid, Hillery Clinton, The Great I AM et al only used reasoned and well thought out arguments againt Republican and especially George W. Bush's policies.
There I finished the sentence for the LAT
Is this journalism?
From the article:
“She is one of just two elected officials scheduled to speak at a national tea party convention in February. (The other represents Tennessee, where the convention will be held.)”
Since it is only TWO, maybe you could report her NAME? Which of course is Marcia Blackburn.
Maybe the fact that SARAH PALIN is the keynote speaker at this event might have been newsworthy.
