Rep. Hoekstra: Attempted airline bombing should 'connect the dots' for Obama By Jordan Fabian - 12/26/09 12:46 PM ET
Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.) Friday said that the attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight bound for Detroit should "connect the dots" for the Obama administration.
Hoekstra, who is the top Republican on the House Select Intelligence Committee, told the Detroit Free Press that the attacks are an indication that al Qaeda is beginning to plan more widespread attacks on the United States.
Its not surprising, Hoekstra said of the attempt to blow up a Northwest airliner. People have got to start connecting the dots here and maybe this is the thing that will connect the dots for the Obama administration."
At the time of his remarks, Hoekstra had not been briefed on the attempt Obama administration officials are calling an attempted terrorist attack.
Hoekstra brought up the fatal Fort Hood shootings allegedly perpetrated by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who is reportedly linked to a Islamic cleric in Yemen, Hoekstra said this Northwest incident could be one more indication that the al Qaeda branch there may be planning more attacks.
The Michigan Republican has frequently been critical of the Obama administration's handling of national security issues.
U.S. officials have said that there is no indication that the Northwest incident was part of a broader operation.
23-year-old Nigerian Umar Faouk Abdul Mutallab was detained by passengers and crew after attempting to light some sort of explosive aboard the plan on Christmas Day.
Two congressional committees have already said they would investigate the attempted bombing next month.
There goes the “3 ounce” rule.....
We are in trouble now.
Pres__ent Obamination is just too stupid to be able to complete a "connect the dots" sort of puzzle.
I pray to God for the salvation of my once great nation.
These type statements simply pi$$ me off. The so called Intelligence Experts still seem to be looking for a damned Al Qaeda org chart. They still haven't seemed to figure out how these groups communicate.
We need some bomb sniffing pigs on duty.
I guess it’s time to start stripping passengers and putting them in surgical scrubs or paper coveralls at the gate and then returning their clothing at their destination.
Of course, lawsuits will be filed and this won’t apply to muslims...
yep..........
HEY “ LET’S NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS”
Meaning that the Hawaiian White House's "let's not jump to conclusions" memo didn't get to them in time.
I saw of FoxNews this morning that they’ve tightened security at our airports considerably since this guy tried to blow up the Detroit bound Delta flight. Seems kinda nuts that they’d tighten AFTER the incident. Talk about the horse being out of the barn...
First “security measure”......read the damn terriorst suspect list.
Dick Cheney was right...
FoXnewZ now reporting banner:
Canada only or so it sounds.. for now..
Airlines: Passengers must remain in their seat for 1 hour before landing.. no restroom , no getting something out of overhead bin..
Fix the damn profiling system, stop this madness..
No! The Obama administration will call terrorism "terrorism" when it fails. They'll call it "man-caused disaster" when it succeeds.
Correction: TSA would be imposing this new no movement rule.. not just Canada
Good God.. is our leadership that incompetent?
guess we will have to purchase all our supplies that contain liquid or powder, at our destination from now on.
Yeah but this was a failure at an international level with the Obama admin. TSA can tighten security here all they want. If other countries fail to do so, this scenario will play out again.

I am not sure they communicate so much as they are part of a collective. Deadenders just have this need to be a part of larger idea and don’t need instructions from anyone.

I can drive just about anywhere I want to go, and that has become my first choice for mode of travel. I have no plans to ever leave this country again---I've already been everywhere I wanted to go as far as travel outside of this country is concerned.
I feel really sorry for Americans who have to do overseas travel due to work or having relatives in foreign countries.
Call me a coward---what can I say?
