There’s a difference between...

Interesting and rational comment. Agreed, there is a difference between the AGW scammers, ulterior motivated AGW grifters, and AGW scam-victims. Most individuals lack the critical thinking skills necessary to evaluate science and to expose most logical fallacies.

The Top Global Warming "scientists" were exposed gaming the system.

The result of the Top Global Warming Scientist's misdeeds is a science muddle. A great deal of climate research has become unreliable at best and flat wrong at worst. Enormous political pressure has built in many nations to commit great sums to AGW. The money has become the important thing.

You sum up the AGW situation pretty well. Does anyone really know what’s going on? I doubt it, because the climate must be incredibly complex. I’m suspicious of anyone who tells me they have accurately modeled it.

Even if AGW is happening, it doesn’t necessarily justify everything else the AGW believers want. For example, I’m not willing to give up all the trappings of modern life just to save a couple meters of sea rise over the next century.

All in all, I can’t really blame people for believing in AGW. Like I posted earlier, the MSM, government, corporations, and universities have come out pretty strong on the issue. If one really believes Al Gore’s spin, for example, can we blame them for wanting government action?
