Thomas Sowell wrote in one of his recent columns how it is impossible for government to “create” jobs. The government can only redirect money (and take a cut) thereby hurt the economy and the natural free market efficient distribution of resources. It is pretty simple economics.

Health care up front costs are definitely a cut. What would happen were it to go into effect and folks find out that the money’s already gone?

And they have redirected it to the point that a civil servant is paid twice as much as a private sector employee. They also have union benefits that have to be paid for as well as they are unable to be fired thanks to union protection. However, all the funds used to pay the government employee is taken directly out of the hands of the private sector employee.
