Time to Suffer for Pro-Life Principles (Letter to Editor)
Dayton Daily News | December 25, 2009 | Jack Sederstrand

Posted on 12/25/2009 10:44:17 AM PST by Faith

When the Senate and House agree on a health care bill and if our tax money pays for ana portion directly or indirectly, I will revolt by not paying my personal taxes.

I will prefer going to prison than have even one cent of my income pay for an abortion.

I have been praying about this and other issues that affect my pro-life principles. If I call myself pro-life, then I must act on these principles in a way that will change my comfort level to the point of suffering.

How many of us have fought with money and time since Roe v. Wade only to see millions of our human species murdered?

It is time to revolt. To place our own lives on the line for the lives of those most vulnerable . . . human life in the womb.

How much am I willing to suffer for the life of another human being? I made up my mind on what to do. What about you?

I love this writer's boldness and conviction. Everyone who loves the Lord must contribute in some way to fight this battle. I pray that He will raise up millions of willing warriors who will be a voice for the precious innocents.

I must say that I would like to do the same and quit paying my personal income tax. However, I will not pretend I do not fear the consequences. I have two little girls and a loving wife who need me. This would prove to be an extremely difficult to decision. The only way this would work is if millions jumped on board. They could then never afford to put us all in prison. This consideration deserves much prayer.

"I will prefer going to prison than have even one cent of my income pay for an abortion."

This is precisely the right thing to do. Either be willing to go to jail -- and lose your income -- or just lose the income first. If your tax money is going to killing babies, the moral response (and responsibility) is to prevent that.

Sooner or later, here or elsewhere, we will all answer for that "one cent."

Is that the entire letter?
It doesn’t matter, it’s enough......
It would be good if this and other letters and statements, like The Manhattan Declaration, could be combined, and lead to REAL civil disobedience, whether it takes the form of withholding of taxes, a general strike, or shutting down the Federal Government BODILY. It’s worth talking about, will anyone be willing to brainstorm this and other urgent issues? Will anyone at FR be willing to stick with it, and promote this as a REAL, SUBSTANTIVE ISSUE worthy of personal sacrifice and enormous personal risk? It goes without saying that withholding of taxes is THE riskiest strategy: it’s resulted in the imprisonment of a number of individuals who were feckless enough to believe “experts” who told them that the Government has no “right” to income taxes. Unfortunately for some of these people, like, recently, Wesley Snipes, they did not tie their tax refusal to an ISSUE except the highly debatable one that the Feds were overstepping their bounds. BUT IT IS TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION THAT WAS THE RALLYING CRY THAT FORMED THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, BROUGHT ABOUT THE AMERICAN REPUBLIC, AND WILL AGAIN RESTORE THE AMERICAN REPUBLIC TO WHAT IT WAS MEANT TO BE.

Having said what I said in the reply I just posted, I can only add one thought:

The Government as it now exists are
OUR NEW COLONIAL MASTERS

we are in a situation NOW comparable to what we were in prior to the American Revolution.

I proposing everybody carry a button or bumper sticker with an x-out D, as a universal symbol of opposition to Democrats.

It’s a VISIBLE symbolic action, that makes our beliefs known to EVERYBODY.

In the 60’s, opposition to the Democrat administration, especially its policy — then, as now — of sending troops to battle without committing itself to victory, seeded the counterculture, with long hair and alternative clothing as visible markers. Those symbols influenced a generation. It is truly strange that the counterculture lost touch with its small-government, anti-Democrat party origins: Chalk that up to the pervasive, malevolent influence of leftist-controlled media and schools over the younger generation.

We need to seed a similar movement now, for the same reason — opposition to the style, methods and purposes of the Democrat party, and reaffirmation of minimalist, Constitutional governance.

I have a suggestion for this writer and anyone else considering withholding federal income taxes because of the abortion funding provisions of the health insurance bill.

File with the IRS as a conscientious objector. Those old enough will recall that during the Vietnam war, when we had a draft, you could file with the draft board as a conscientious objector if it violated your faith and conscience to take a life.

Is there really a difference here? They aren't asking us to perform abortions but to force us to pay for them is to force us to participate in them in a very real and material way. I object to that.

Get a lawyer and draw up a document of release from federal tax obligations on the basis of conscientious objector status.

The only other choice is to leave the U.S. and revoke citizenship.

Well, OK, there is one other choice. Lexington and Concord.

I like that. It is simple and direct. It can be easily and quickly drawn or painted too.

There’s an additional choice. Don’t make enough money to be taxed.

That is true. I am in that category. I didn’t intend to stay in it permanently but it may come to that.

Is it possible to go on contract work at the job and then don’t pay taxes at the end of the year?
