KING OF THE COWBOYS ROY ROGERS REIGN ENDS WITH NO HAPPY TRAILS
National Enquirer ^ | December 23, 2009

Roy Rogers and his trusty steed Trigger may have come to the end of their "Happy Trails" - television's most famous horse is going on the auction block, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

The beloved golden palomino's home, the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum, has closed - doomed by bitter family feuding, greed, mounting debts and IRS demands.

Trigger - stuffed in a familiar pose, rearing majestically on hind legs - will join Dale Evans' horse Buttermilk, their beloved German shepherd Bullet and other Rogers memorabilia in bidding that's expected to reach into the multimillions of dollars.

Fans around the world were stunned by the news that the museum in Branson, Mo., abruptly closed its doors on Dec. 12 after being open to fans for 42 years.

"Negotiations are underway for Trigger, Buttermilk and Bullet to be sold at auction in New York next summer," an insider told The ENQUIRER. "The IRS has valued Trigger alone at $1 million - not bad for a horse Roy paid $25,000 for when he was alive!

The author of this article lied when he said it closed abruptly. The closing was announced in October. I know because my wife and I saw the announcement and visited the museum in erly Nov. We watched his son and grandson in their singing tribute to Roy and Dale.

I suspect he also made up the story about family feuding. The son and grandson seemed to be hiding nothing about the closing. The generation that knew Roy is dying off. Attendance to the shows was not generating enough revenue to meet the expenses of keeping the museum open.

My wife now has a collection of three pictures of Roy and Trigger. One is signed by Roy, one by Roy Jr, and one by Roy III. She also got her picture taken with Roy Jr and Roy III. I don’t know the HTML well enough to post the pictures but the website showing the pictures of her visit are at

http://theliechtys.com/roberta_visits_her_childhood_her.htm

The one picture showing a lunch box like she had is in the group. I found this lunch box on Ebay and gave it to her this morning as a Christmas present.

That’s still a lot of money for a horse.

The vinyl flooring of my 2nd-grade classroom had the imprint of a cowboy with a big white hat and a horse in a repeating pattern. I didn’t know who it was as I had never seen a TV. Then, during that same year, I saw my first TV program. The cowboy and horse on screen look amazingly like the imprint on the floor at school. To this day I can here the tv identifying him as “Hopalong Cassidy”. You can imagine the impression that made on me.

I hope Roy Rogers is riding Trigger, when the Messiah of Israel comes back for his "big shootout" on this earth. It seems like it would be appropriate to have Roy there. But, actually, it's a big military campaign to be led by the Messiah of Israel, even if Roy Rogers is there. It's the Messiah of Israel who will come back "looking for bear" and you better hope you're (anyone reading) is not the bear... :-)

At Christmas -- a lot of people think about a cute little baby Jesus or a very nice man who said nice things to people, was uplifting, and healed a bunch of people...

What people really need to remember is that there's this "big bad Jewish fellow" out there, who's showing up soon, sorta unexpected, and he's "looking for bear" and is gonna open up "the biggest can of whoop-ass" you've ever seen in your life, on a bunch of people here on earth. LOL...

However, many fail to understand -- but they will "understand" when the Messiah of Israel returns to this earth, sets His feet on the soil of this globe, and sets up the ruling authority -- the one-world government -- that He puts into place over all nations, including the United States.

He's the Messiah of Israel, that He is coming back to earth, to set up a one-world government, with His headquarters in Jerusalem, ruling over all the nations of the world, including the United States and will rule over all who are still alive (from who are living right now today) -- and that He will definitely scrap the Constitution of the United States and make Himself the supreme ruler over all that we do.

The "day of reckoning" is coming for all of those who are trying to take over the world and put it totally under their control in an evil one-world empire. And they do admit that they want a one-world government -- their government, not God's...

When the Messiah of Israel comes back to this earth to set up His one-world government and subject all the nations of the world to His authority and rule -- He'll be making real short work of any of those yahoos...

And you can be sure that He will be utterly destroying anything to do with any of these yahoos, since whatever they say and do is a total perversion of anything to do with the Messiah of Israel.

And for sure -- we all, in this world, need the Messiah of Israel back, here on earth -- to destroy this coming one-world government and to install His own one-world government in its place.

I'm looking forward to the coming Kingdom on earth and the one-world government that the Messiah of Israel will be setting up, after He destroys, by His own hand, the present and evil one-world government that we see forming right now.

    Isaiah 9:6-7

For unto us a Child is born.
    Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
    Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and peace
    There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

“Being a Christian is about: If you cant say anything good about someone. Don’t say anything. Espaecially when they are dead and cannot respond.”

What can I say, sometimes people don’t hit it off. Also sometimes we raise our expectations of indivudals we admire from afar and then when they are up close and not as we imagine them or all too mortal or as we are occuppied with their lives we get hurt. Either way I doubt that an experience of a few seconds or even minutes is enough to judge the character of a man unless of course to catch him in a henious crime. All I know is that Roy inspired a lot of people as did many cowboys and generally in a positive way. I am more of a John Wayne fan myself that is if I had to decide and I really don’t. They played characters.

I’ve met many public people. Some were perfectly nice but have did more damage to this nation than the rudest person ever could. We make a mistake in judging a man by his docility or how he serves our egos. That is exactly why we find our country in such a mess but then again that is another topic altogether.

And the Radio and TV shows were something you could let kids watch because

In addition, in order to ensure that their character remain constant and true to their theory, Fran Striker and George W. Trendle drew up these guidelines and list of rules which embody who and what the Lone Ranger is and why he has remained a hero and a legend:

The Lone Ranger is never seen without his mask or a disguise.

With emphasis on logic, The Lone Ranger is never captured or held for any length of time by lawmen, avoiding his being unmasked.

At all times, The Lone Ranger uses perfect grammar and precise speech completely devoid of slang and colloquial phrases.

When he has to use guns, The Lone Ranger never shoots to kill, but rather only to disarm his opponent as painlessly as possible.

Logically, too, The Lone Ranger never wins against hopeless odds; i.e., he is never seen escaping from a barrage of bullets merely by riding into the horizon.

Even though The Lone Ranger offers his aid to individuals or small groups, the ultimate objective of his story is to imply that their benefit is only a by-product of a greater achievement—-the development of the west or our country.

His adversaries are usually groups whose power is such that large areas are at stake.

All adversaries are American to avoid criticism from minority groups.

Names of unsympathetic characters are carefully chosen, avoiding the use of two names as much as possible to avoid even further vicarious association. More often than not, a single nickname is selected.

The Lone Ranger does not drink or smoke, and saloon scenes are usually interpreted as cafes, with waiters and food instead of bartenders and liquor

Hence, Black Bart as a bad gut etc.

Even the 1982 movie, as bad as it was, pretty much stayed on theme with these ‘rules’.

Unlike the cr@p athat passes for film entertainment today....

“Who was that Masked Man daddy?”

“Why, son - that was the Lone Ranger.”

He only posted it 27 times, by my count...

I was getting tired of it after the 5th or 6th time. But I’m a kinda grumpy Mr Rogers - maybe like Roy was the day he met one of the posters!

Don’t forget those weekday after school half hour serials; Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, Captian Corbett (little space ships with strings visible), Tarzan, then can’t forget Little Rascals. Wow, now you know how old I am - I’m old...

I'm old, too, but those were the days. Tom Corbett, Space Cadet .. I was so entranced I never noticed the strings. But I was in love with the Cisco Kid. Thanks for the memories. :-)

I was never the biggest RR fan either...

Neither was I. As a kid of 8 I always went to the movies on Saturday mornings, no matter what was showing. But, to my mind at the time, there was something suspicious about a cowboy who kissed a girl rather than his horse.

Besides, we had real masculine cowboys such as Lash LaRue.
