I agree. The 1950s were a key decade. The US was strong. We had principles. Men were men. McCarthy told us that the communists were moving against us, but so many people refused to believe him. Then Sputnik came along, and a whole lot of Leftists got very involved in public schools -- working to "improve math and science". And it's all been downhill ever since. We've now gone through several generations in which many kids can't do math, don't understand science, can't read, can't write, don't understand civics, and have contempt for religion.

Conservative MUST understand that the government schools movement has ALWAYS been the Rosemary's Baby of the Utopian Progressives. It has been since they open the first compulsory government school in the mid-1800s.

THIS DID NOT START IN THE 1950s!!!! Utopian Progressives have ALWAYS been the leading directors of teacher education and curriculum.

Our nation's demise began when the FIRST child entered government schools in the mid-1800s!

Every day a child attends government schools he learns that government can take money from his neighbor to pay for a service his parents want for tuition FREE! They are taught every day that education is a right. Well?...If education is “right” then why not health care, food, clothing, or anything else the child wants for FREE!

Within one to three generations, my parents, grandparents, and great grandparents had approved:

** The direct election of Senators
** The feminist movement
** The Federal Reserve
** The failed League of Nations
** FDR and his New Deal
** Johnson's Great Society
** The abandonment of the gold standard
** A thousand other paper cuts of socialism
** And...Now we have Obama

If conservatives want to save this nation we MUST shut down the government schools and get children into PRIVATE CONSERVATIVE SCHOOLS!!

Yes, I am shouting. Conservatives are very stupid about the harm government schools have done and fail to realize that they can NOT be reformed! Government schools ARE A SOCIALIST PROGRAM. SOCIALISM CAN NOT BE REFORMED!!!!!

The meaning of "new math" at that time was partlylearning different-base number systems, mostly in order to get students familiar with the binary number system, which no one needs to be told is the basis of all electronic data. Remember Eisenhower? The roots of the Internet? What partly defeated the Soviet Union was our quantum leap ahead of them in computer science (along with Reagan's defense spending war).

The invasion of the leftists was ongoing of course, starting earlier and having its victory party today.
