What’s appalling is that stories like this don’t shock many people anymore. The American people need to find a way to stop using the public schools system.

Homeschooling is a constitutionally protected right at this time. We are certainly not wealthy, but we are able to teach our children quite well. They are far beyond their peers at the public school. Besides this, they are quite capable of carrying a well articulated conversation with adults. They know how to think logically and do not believe that what is said is a fact without thinking for themselves. They are learning rhetoric and debate. Our 10 year old argues with the politicians on tv, pointing out assumptions and arguments they make that she believes to be false. The point is this: anyone can homeschool if they like spending a great deal time with their children and can provide care for their children while the children would normally be at school. I am in college and my husband works, but I work my classes around my husband’s schedule, so we don’t have to pay for daycare.
