My high school used to play in the same leagues as Englewood High, and we looked forwar to road trips to that school as much as we would have looked forward to road trips to Detroit.
Is this a middle class area? It seems to me that almost of these school outrage stories come from schools that would be considered “good”.
There are schools that are sooooo violent, dysfunctional, and abusive that it would be better for the child **never** to attend. I **seriously** mean it. It would be better for the child to have no education whatsoever than to every step foot in these cesspools.
This school is one of them....and.....when school opens after the Christmas STUPID parents will still send their kids.
By the way...No mention of the race of the attackers. That means they are black.

What these perps did is aggravated mayhem; its punishable by life in prison without possibility of parole. That is what each of them deserve.
When I was in 6th grade my father died. I missed 4.5 weeks of school. I came back and there was a lot of support..I was 11 going on 12 years old. I lived in North Jersey at the time in a very affluent town and 99.999% white.
About a month after I returned to school I was jumped by 6 kids 1 of them was the only black kid in town who got a tremendous amount of attention because he was the only black kid in town and a recognized athlete. Him and I played on the same teams and his Dad was my baseball coach for 2 years.
I was jumped at recess because I was having “words” over a ball that we were all playing with...I believe it was a basketball.
They kicked the ever living shit out of me and one kid sucker punched me in the temple. They laughed while doing it for 5 minutes.
I had been in enough neighborhood fights in my life to know how to defend myself...but sometimes there are just scumbag bullies like these piles of crap that did this to this kid that feel invinceable. They feel they can get away with anything. I could have been killed that day...just a month after my own Dad died. All over having words over a ball.
12 year olds ARE that savage over a school yard misunderstanding.
Oh I forgot to add...I believe the reason I was attacked that day was because I was shown a bit more attention and understanding at the time versus other kids because of the hell I had just gone through the month before.
It was all rooted in jealousy and ignorance.

Oh, that poor kid! I saw stuff like this in junior high and high school, though it was never near this brutal. I’m too cynical to believe the boy will get justice for what was done to him, so I’ll just pray that he comes through this horrible thing without permanent physical damage.
