This is a clear-cut and egregious violation of equal treatment under the law. All states pay into medicare except one, and that one happens to be a needed vote. This is unconstitutional.
Elections have consequences.
Could you elaborate on all “states pay into medicare except one, and that one happens to be a needed vote” and how this is unconstitutional?
I am not disputing your claim, but need more info.
SCOTUS nothing... Stand up to DIrty Harry. Make the Senate work by their existing rules The Freakin’ bill contains a Senate Rule change that essentially makes it impossible to ever bring to the floor anything that would ever modify this bill. Rule changes need 2/3 majority to pass the Senate. Make them play by the rules.
People of the United States vs. The US Congress
Well, looks like it is taxation without representation. The Comuno-Nazis in Washington have shown their disdain for the American people.
The Comuno-Nazis will not allow an election in 2010. You can bet on that.
What to do?
No more talk, as it is useless. No more demonstrations, as they have proven to be waste of time. No more web sites protesting the Congress, as they are the refuge of the inept. No more court cases, as the courts are full of scoundrels who masquerade as judges.
It is time to shed the shackles of tyranny by following the example of the Founders in Boston and at Concorde.
SCOTUS does not issue advisory opinions.
:nodding in agreement: The Constitution is specific: “actual cases and controversies.” Sorry, but them’s the rules.
There's more than one state getting a sweet deal in this bill.
HotAir has a rundown: The list of payoffs that got Reid his cloture vote
Simply, we are taxed to pay for medicaid for a state that does not represent us. Taxation without representation.
