Plus they have (I'm not kidding) fiber-optic cables coming out of their patooties that allow them to plug into animals and control them. Now, that just seems wrong-I mean, why should they get to control the pterodactyls? Why don't the pterodactyls control them? This kind of biped-centrism is just another form of imperialist racism, in my opinion.
Wow....this movie has all kinds of insane idiocy.

"And it turns out there's a big deposit of unobtainium under the Keebler Elf Tree. They want the elves to move." They should have cited the Supreme Court decision in Kelo v. City of New London and invoked eminent domain.

I loved Gran Torino...any movie where the old guy gets to brandish his Garand at intruders has my vote of approval...:)
I won’t see Avitar, though.

We went to see “The Blind Side” yesterday. I highly recommend that movie. That was the first time in memory that we left a movie and my husband did not say “that sucked”. He liked it too. Bring some Kleenex.

Best description I read so far was Dances with Wolves meets high tech CGI.
I have no compelling desire to see this one.

“Dances with Elves,” AKA, “White man bad, blue elf good.”
I’m reminded of a book about life in the Soviet Red Army, in the bad old days of the 1980s or so. The troops were shown propaganda films of the Evil American Army in Vietnam. But the propaganda showings did not go according to plan. Every time they showed the Huey’s and Cobras doing air assaults, the Russian soldiers cheered wildly. “Kill the mujadeen!” they all screamed in solidarity with the heli-borne American grunts!

Yeah, it’s just a good vs evil thing. I try not to read too much into it.
I watched 2012 over Thanksgiving. Everyone tried to ‘splain me the politics but in the end, it was just a big ole pile of disaster porn. The worst part of the flick was there weren’t enough subwoofers in the place.

Fiance and I saw it this weekend.
The alien's "fiber-optic" thingy was at the end of their ponytail.
The blue aliens were a combination of the American Indians & the Smurfs, only 12 feet tall. They even had bows & arrows.
If you go, see it in 3D, it makes it a little more tolerable.

I went to Ukraine in 1992 with some interesting lay missionaries — about half of our group was vietnam war vets with a desire to reach out to veterans of Russia’s dirty little losing war in Afghanistan. How little we knew that their vietnam would go on to become our Afghanistan ...
