If on January the 21st comes around and even a third of workers stayed home, I’ll apologize. However, I’m convinced that this is a pipe dream doomed to failure. A handful will strike and everyone who laughed before will be laughing again.

Thanks for posting this. I put up another post from this same site and was shot down for my efforts. I mainly wanted to spread the word. I’m glad to see you feel the same as I do and will be getting involved.

Sadly, this is what it’s come to. The nation is no longer because we sat idly by and let this happen. We ignored the lessons of history and now we will all pay a price.
My money is on Texas severing it’s ties first.

On January 20, 2010 We The People will strike at the life blood of that parasitic congress by denying them the tax revenue for one day. We will not work. We will not shop, or buy anything that is taxed. Will not do. Not a matter of staying home, I will be away on business at a conference. If I am not there, I and my company lose.
Try something else.

Nice idea - but it will not work. A much more substantial show of force will be required to get the attention of the governing elite. Much more substantial.

There’s nothing organized about it. We’re simply getting more self-sufficient and aren’t buying much. ;-)

Whoa. “National Day of Strike?” Somebody’s dreamin’. We’re not buying anything until after the big default. ...not doing much, either, except for working on our own little production hobbies (casting steel parts and the like) in anticipation of replacing the trash in all kinds of leadership now.

Better yet, show up in D.C. on the day of Obama’s State of the Union Address. A massive protest with hundred’s of thousands to ruin their annual party and back slapping. This corrupt Congress must be exposed and voted out of office.

I have not in my life time seen a more hell bent move to take our great nation to the extreme left. I guess like me you're too young to remember the Wilson administration, or the FDR administration, or the Johnson administration.

We really should overload the very systems they think are so important. Every business, etc should lay off 100% of all employees. All of America should go on unemployment and welfare. We should all apply for welfare and social security benefits NOW.
Let’s show them just how well their system really works...
