Movie star Brittany Murphy is dead of a heart attack at 32.
She went into full cardiac arrest early Sunday and could not be revived, the Website TMZ reported.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department got a call from the home of Murphy's husband Simon Monjack about 8 a.m., fire officials told TMZ.
She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival
Murphy starred in "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."
The starlet became a household name among teens in 1995 as the sidekick in "Clueless," who went from awkward wall flower to snotty hottie.
A few years ago, she released the single "Faster Kill Pussycat," which became a dance club hit.
Her last big movie was "Sin City" in 2005
very sad. she was way too thin which is common for ladies her age.
Guess we'll find out soon enough. From the look of one picture posted here, Anorexia doesn't look out of the realm of possibility. That's what killed Karen Carpenter.
She was on the Tonight Show after her break up with Ashton Kutcher...LOL...Jay told her that age must not matter to Ashton (being w/Demi Moore) and Brittany Murphy replied, I guess size doesn’t matter to Demi. *sigh*That was probably the only time in her career that she actually said or did anything remotely funny.
It's sickening that she died so young.
But I'm not going to pretend she was anything that she wasn't. She wasn't really funny, and she wasn't all that much of an actress. I'm sure there was a good real reason why her breakout film was called Clueless, and watching Just Married---as I was fated to do last weekend, when the woman with whom I share my life wanted to watch it from curiosity---is to see the proof positive that the only thing you get when you mate a halfwit to a halfwit is a nitwit, and that proof is compounded for having been played by two actors who left you fearing they weren't really acting brain-damaged.
A terrible shame. She does look anorexic. Prayers for her family and friends. Hope she finds peace.
I’m putting my money on Anorexia Nervosa. It starts out as psychological and ends up as a physical disease.
Bulemia is very hard on the heart, too.
She was wonderful as Kirsten Dunst’s friend in The Devil’s Arithmetic. A haunting Holocaust movie that is a must-see for every teen... RIP.
You have not seen the reports that she was on Crack? Crack has the same wasting affect on the body.
I saw one report that said her mom found her in the shower, when the EMTs got there she was in full cardiac arrest—Karen Carpenter syndrome?
Update: An autopsy may be performed Monday, Radaronline.com reports. An investigator from L.A. County Coroner’s office is scheduled to interview attending physicians as well as Monjack and Murphy’s mother, Sharon.
Update: A rep for the LAPD confirms to UsMagazine.com, “There is a death investigation involving the actress Brittany Murphy,” with a full statement expected later on.
Anorexia would be my guess.
Poor child...she bought into the old saw “No one can be too rich or too thin.”
