Well, as it turns out, Washington DC residents know exactly how much of a joke 911 is in their own town, after a cop. Pulled a gun. On kids. Throwing snowballs. Yeah, and they're reading this cop the riot act.

Ok, I don’t disagree with any of that. I Guess I misused the term “civilian”. You made my point better in your second line.. “They just have more responsibility and authority than other citizens.”
Nothing will happen to these cops. They did nothing illegal.

There were a bunch of rowdy (ghetto) kids who were acting up and seeing as how it was DC anything could happen.

That doesn't look like the ghetto. That looks like somewhere in northeast DC.

cops have more power than civilians in this regard.

Cops ARE civilians, FRiend. It's an important distinction.

And here’s what the police department claimed of the plainclothes cop’s actions that night:

“Assistant Chief Pete Newsham, who leads the department’s investigative services bureau, said it appears the patrol officer acted appropriately, and the worst the detective might have done is use inappropriate language in dealing with the snowball fighters…“He was armed but never pulls his weapon…I think what probably happens is somebody probably saw his gun and called the police”

Nice lies and coverups from the blue wall of silence.

ping. Plainclothes cop pulls gun on snowball fight, and the police department later denies it.

Everyone in the crowd was assaulted by the officer. If it wasn’t a cop but a person with a CCW or open carrier, would you still think that no assault had occured?

is there a law against a Private Citizen un-holstering his weapon?? the answer is YES, then The Police should be held to at least the Same Standard. I would prefer they were held to a Higher Standard. 40 years ago when I was kid having snow ball fights, this never would of happened, and if it did the Cop would of been FIRED on the SPOT. Why people choose to defend the Looters and the Keepers of our Police State is beyond me. If I had it my way, it be would automatic termination and complete loss of Pension just for Lying. This would warrant criminal prosecution. The only thing that has changed, is now there thousands of laws turning free and innocent people into Criminals. We have not progressed in my 50 years, we have digressed into what is becoming a Police State. If you really wish to Defend actions like this, all I can say is, May God have mercy on your soul!

Now explain why you believe that statement. Where in the US Constitution are police given authority beyond the citizen?

Never claimed the USCON said anything about local police powers. But if you think you can do everything that the police do, knock yourself out. Maybe you could pull someone over on your way to work... or maybe if some hit-and-run driver side-swipes your car and injures you leaving you unable to chase them down yourself with your private citizen lights and siren kit, you can tell the police not to bother going after them because the USCON doesn’t grant them the power to drive over the speed limit.

The video that I saw involved a black detective that if I was his boss would be enjoying a suspension at this moment. The other cops that responded to his call did nothing wrong that I can see and even suggested that the kids file a complaint with his district.

I personally would have liked to see him blow into an intoxilyzer looking at him. Just a professional suspicion.
