An aide to Rep. Bart Stupak (D. Mich.) coordinated opposition to a Senate compromise on the place of abortion in health care legislation this morning with the Republican Senate leadership, the Conference Catholic Bishops, and other anti-abortion groups, according to a chain of frantic emails obtained this morning by POLITICO.
Stupak, in an interview with POLITICO, called the Senates bills abortion position unacceptable but disavowed his staffers collaboration with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
We will soon see what Stupak is made of.
Screwed once by Stupak and the GOP and people are foolishly jumping back in...
How many times do you have to walk into a wall before you stop doing it?
I’m sorry, Stupak is a liar (has a D behind his name), and he will find a way to fool us again, getting the bill passed while pretending he has done something for the pro-life movement.
Stupak just alsharptoning for additional money. He’s a POS.
Stupak is just trying to get a deal as sweet as Nelson did by looking like a holdout. I’m guessing he will be given what he wants.
