RE: “They want every dollar they can get and will stop at nothing including outright theft to get our assets. Income won’t be the only thing attacked vis-a-vis taxes.
EVERYTHING will be up for grabs.”

and...your post...

“Yes. My friend who escaped Communist Vietnam on a rickety boat told me about how this happened to his family and how it will be coming here.”

************

I know — I had an Iranian born neighbor, really nice girl, who related the horrors of the takeover by mullahs in Iran years ago. Her parents had had a nice business and the thugs came and just ripped everything away from everyone except the roofs over their heads — they could stay in their stripped homes but that was IT.

Some of our most fearful residents in the US now have lived thru what you and I describe and similar. It’s bad, really bad, and unless we actually DO something it will get far worse.

Persians are interesting people. The ones I’ve met who have become American citizens seem to be good folks, as well as intelligent and hard-working. Just like the people from Vietnam, Cambodia, the ex-USSR, etc. who I’ve met. They busted their asses to get to freedom, and now they are seeing it flushed away again. The sad thing is that these people can give first-hand testimony that what’s happening right now in the US is virtually the same thing that happened in their countries during the communist takeover, and most people just roll their eyes at it. Yes, it’s a bit different in that it’s a “soft tyranny”, but it’s tyranny regardless. Smiley-faced Fascism.
