Israel's new rocket defense system has proven a hit-to-kill capability.
Officials said Israel's Iron Dome has achieved the ability to strike incoming short-range missiles and rockets. They said the Iron Dome demonstrated this during its first live fire test in mid-2009. "They met head on," Defense Minister Ehud Barak said.
In a Nov. 17 address to the International Aerospace Conference and Exhibition-Israel, Barak said Iron Dome exceeded all expectations. He said the assessment within the Defense Ministry and military had been that the interceptor would explode 10 meters from the incoming missile.

you watch , the a-hole Mullahs in Tehran and Goon
will try and launch on Israel and the Israelis will employ a
technology that hits them all and explodes them while still over Iranian territory , contaminating Iran with whatever
they had planned for Israel .
I can’t wait to see this . Take the shot .
Then for the fully justified Israeli counter strike ....
This is the only way the world is going to forever get rid of the cursed cancer of the mullocracy in Iran ,seeing as how the people of Iran can’t seem to take care of them .
I am getting the feeling that there is going to be a propaganda war about to start (obviously it already has started)that will put Iran and Israel up front, Israel will have golems that are invincible and Iran will have speed of light photon torpedoes. The battle will be on twitter and facebook, Iran already has their game face on, Israel is trying to act purely defensive which in history has never won a war.
Iran will goad and needle and simper like a half blood nasty relative trying to start a fight, and Israel will have to eventually face the concept of absolute total human savagery in order to win this battle.
I’m betting on Israel because the other guy is a Muslim.
Thread Bump.

It’s hard to evaluate their claim. Not its veracity, its content. If it is proximity fused, it won’t work well as a hit to kill weapon.
Hit to kill weapons are designed to transfer just about all their kinetic energy to the target, but need extremely accurate guidance. Hit to kill is useful against harden targets, when you want to tranfer as much momentum as possible.
Are they saying that the proximity fuse was on a trajectory to achieve a “direct hit”? While one such success is encouraging it is hardly statistically significant.
Proximity fuses work like a shotgun, they spray a cloud of shot at more vulernable targets, hoping to kill a vital organ, like the cooling system or an oil hose. The problem is that a warhead designed to withstand reentry can withstand a pretty good ding with a ballbearing.
