Shane Sparks, judge on MTV's 'America's Best Dance Crew,' Arrested On Suspicion of Child Molestation

Shane Sparks, a judge on MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," was arrested this morning on suspicion of felony child molestation, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Sparks was taken into custody at his North Hollywood home at 8 a.m., said Officer Gregory Baek. He is being held in lieu of $590,000 bail.
Authorities released few details but said the alleged crime occurred in the 1990s and that authorities only recently learned about it. More details are expected to be released later today. The Los Angeles district attorney’s office filed an eight-count felony complaint today against Sparks, alleging multiple lewd acts upon a child, starting in 1994. It identified the victim as a girl who was younger than 14 years old when the incidents began.]

That is a little odd. Also odd that it's for something almost 16 years ago. As it says it was someone "under the age of 14" then they'd be 30 (or something less) now.
I sure wouldn't defend any molester, but how would an innocent person possibly defend themselves against a charge that's that old? I wonder if this is one of those "recovered memory" sorts of cases.

When the word "crew" is in the media and doesn't apply to the operators of larger vehicles, be they military or civilian, it usually means we're gong to be hearing about...miscreants.
Based on that photo I have to ask how old was he in 1994? If he was 18...I gotta say give him a mulligan if she was 14. But if he was in his 20’s then well I guess it’s another story. And if she was younger than 14 then throw the book at him (assuming he was over 18).

What is the statute of limitations on this? And how exactly would you expect to be able to develop hard evidence after such a long time?
He is a some time choreographer on my favorite show, So You Think You Can Dance. However, his routines invariably hurt the dancers’ chances in the contest; he’s not that good.

With our Texas laws they pretty much do robberies when people are gone.
