Well, you probably know that it bothers me, too. When we're bothered by knowledge that most people don't want to accept, we have two general choices.
* We can accept what we've learned, and the knowledge will influence our actions later.
* We can deny the existence of the evil in front of us out of fear and certainty that evil will continue to prevail.

It's happened quite few times before in history. They not only knew. Their daily lives were centered around the propaganda and other efforts of
what they had participated in.
