ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said she cut short her Hawaii vacation because of paparazzi, who photographed her wearing a sun visor with the name of John McCain blacked out.
The pictures were circulated widely on the Internet with speculation the redaction was a slight against McCain, but Palin said she meant no disrespect to her former GOP running mate.
"In an attempt to 'go incognito,' I Sharpied the logo out on my sun visor so photographers would be less likely to recognize me and bother my kids or other vacationers," Palin said in a statement.

1) Fade away into irrelevancy and enjoy her privacy or (2) Become a political player and learn to deal with an intrusive press.
She can't have it both ways.
Still, rather than sharpie "McCain" out, which was bound to be "misunderstood," she probably should have come up with an extra $15 and bought herself a souvenir cap in Hawaii. I'll bet they have them in the airport.

Here’s what is so damn pathetic. Had Sarah accepted an invitation to stay at some fat cat’s private home for a vastly reduced rate, away from the snooping media like Obama’s does, she would have been slammed, shredded and who knows what else, but that’s not her anyway.
So she and her family try to have a normal little vacation in the sun after her amazing book tour and who shows up but Hollyweird’s TMZ to intrude.
It’s a crying shame that Sarah and Todd will either have to spend extra money to insure their privacy from now on or start to accept invitations from friends who own private homes away from the prying eyes of media snoops.
Freepers attacking a conservative, can’t happen. IMO, they are trolls.
Let’s see what happens when barry and his bunch go to Hawaii next week (on our dime).
He’s a beautiful beautiful boy. That said, the family is entitled to privacy. In her book I read that a reporter ‘interviewed’ Piper while she was walking home from school alone.
I love the family. They are all our family. I still have a picture of Piper spit combing the little one’s hair while at the convention. Right then and there I fell in love with Piper. She’s the next Sarah. For sure.

She’s a frugal busy mom who packs her kids bags and has planes to catch. She finds a sunvisor that would work fine, but the message on it is distracting, so she takes a pen and does a bad job of covering it over.
I have a nice leather notebook cover that was a presento from a company I no longer work for. I did the same thing rather than throw it away.

IIRC, Pres. Reagan crossed out a misspelling on a letterhead. There was a story about it, but this was long ago. I remember thinking that he was being very frugal, and I liked that.

If she were in Hawaii promoting her book, different story, of course the media has the right to take pictures of her, but when she is with her CHILDREN just minding her own business they should leave her alone. They are like roaches, they ruined her trip! Perhaps next time she should wear an “Impeach Obama” hat..now THAT would be a kick ass hat
Normal political figures & Hollyweird types hire their own security guards to ensure privacy in public places. The Palins need to do the same. They lost their right to live normal lives.
Palin had better talk to her daughters about sexting. Imagine the press reaction if they got hold of nude pictures of either Bristol, Willow, or even Sarah.
Romney and Huckabee lost their right to privacy too yet the media doesnt follow them around like leaches, why is that? THey don’t even follow Joe Biden around and he’s the Vice President(bad taste in my mouth even saying that) Then she needs to hire better security then. When she was in San Diego writing her book, the press wasn’t no where to be found, but someone must have tipped them off she would be in Hawaii and they went there like the cockroaches they are to bother her

I would leave it alone. I would NEVER react to what the media says. They want a reaction. Sarah has done more for McCain than he is worth.
