Palin cuts short vacation after McCain visor flap

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said she cut short her Hawaii vacation because of paparazzi, who photographed her wearing a sun visor with the name of John McCain blacked out.

The pictures were circulated widely on the Internet with speculation the redaction was a slight against McCain, but Palin said she meant no disrespect to her former GOP running mate.

"In an attempt to 'go incognito,' I Sharpied the logo out on my sun visor so photographers would be less likely to recognize me and bother my kids or other vacationers," Palin said in a statement.

Also in a few days she is having a book signing in her hometown.

Palin had better learn fast on dealing with the media. As a media poltical celebrity, she lost her right to privacy.

Thanks for the info, SB. All I keep hearing is that Sarah crossed out "McCain's" name. There has been no mention that it was a "McCain/Palin" hat.

That’s because no one cared about her crossing out her own name, but it was McCain’s name that was scrubbed out so that made news. First they bash her for crossing out his name, then when she came out after wards and said that she supports McCain 100 percent they trash her for saying she supports McCain..she can’t win no matter what she does. Any true supporter of Sarah’s can care less about a hat, its only the haters who latch onto any little thing and try to make something big out of it. Notice these haters don’t show up when Sarah slams Obama on his policies, notice they are no where on the thread to be found, but something as ridiculous as a hat, here they come out in full force

Well, like I said on the OTHER THREAD like this one, the best thing to do is for Sarah to give this issue the "RUSH job", and auction the damned visor off on eBay, and give the proceeds to John McCain's favorite charity, in his name. I even left that note on her Facebook, but with the thousands on there, she'll probably never see it. It would do two things: it would water down the media's interpretation of this "horrid" event, and it would show she has no animosity toward McCain by donating the money in his name.

It would also accomplish a third thing. If she let it be known that she would start actioning off any item that the media makes a fuss over, it would end up being quite a smack down to them. They would then be working for her now. It would be exactly the same type of smack-down that she gave to David Letterman during the Barbra Walters interview (pricelss).

Whatever she does the same thing will happen, so what? Same as for W, and Cheney. The Drive-By media have made themselves irrelevant; Facebook and Twitter have a larger audience than all of them put together! Sarah has actually boosted Both of them to the stratosphere.
